Looking Ahead

All summer when people asked about a tough road game on USC's schedule, I kept mentioning Washington. After two games, it looks like an extremely formidable game, as Ty Willingham seems to have turned the program around (just as Charlie Weis implodes without Willingham's players anymore). The same goes for Oregon, although more people expect difficulties in Autzen Stadium and quarterback Dennis Dixon provides the mobility Pete Carroll dislikes facing.

Washington beating Syracuse counts for nothing, and its home win over Boise St. is not a big surprise. Let's see how the Huskies do against Ohio St. and FUCLA before we worry about an upset. (And we may want to keep the focus on the Huskers for now!)

I'm with uscmike, the focus needs to be on next Saturday. Cal, Washington, Notre Losers and the rest of the schedule is still out there. Take care of business on Saturday by putting a beating on Nebraska. Show the nation that the number ranking is deserved.

WIthout Ty's players? Weiss has had two full recruiting classes -- so he is playing with his own true freshmen, redshirt freshmen, and true sophmores. The class ahead of them didn't really belong to anyone (Weiss came in so late) -- and everyone older than that (read: every team leader) is Ty's.

There are plenty of things to knock Weiss for, but this is not a Larry-Smith-not-winning-when-he-lost-Ted-Tolner's-players situation.

Two games does not make a season. Every game is a potential upset. Oregon State and UCLA proved that last year. USC needs to focus on one game at a time, starting with the Cornhuskers. But I do believe the Irish gave up on Willingham too soon.

Football is a game of trends and Notre Dame is definitley on the downward spiral. A resurgent UW makes the Pac 10 even tougher as a weak Huskies team the last 5+ years has been a luxury for USC. Ty can pull kids out of LA and lock down the Taylor Mays-type kids. Plus I'd much rather live in SEA than Pullman or Tucson.....

Yeah I agree wolfie..UW looks good...took care of Boise yesterday..

That's cool, let Ty have all the Taylor Mays-like players that he likes that don't wrap their arms around the ball carrier that he likes!

Oops on the double "that he likes", I had a SC cheerleader moment! Note to the cheerleaders, you are not supposed to cheer when the blue team scores!

Whew! After watching all the games yesterday, it seems this is not going to be an easy year for any team. Oregon is good, which is no surprise. I have been to Autzen Stadium, and it holds the rudest and loudest fans I have ever experienced, and it is tough for opposing teams to hear the quarterback...Washington's husky fans are almost as unnerving, and tha team is vastly improved...Clausen of ND looked as if he has potential...Nebraska did not look great, were lucky to beat Wake Forest, but does anybody think that game will be a walk in the park?

hahahahaah

oh bill you just crack me up...your so funny and original!!

wow I never heard posts like your before!

Where do you get your stuff?

IT'S ABOUT AS FRESH AS A FOGHAT CONCERT

why don't you stop wasting all our time with this crap and go back to picking your nose or whateve UCLA fans do..

John you had a sweet post going until you got to..

"clausen has potential"

He hasn't show me much yet..although he is running for his life.

But he is afraid to throw downfield, (if he can because of his arm surgery) doesn't read defenses all that great and panics easily and dumps it to the closes WR which is why he got a grand total of like 130 yds passing yesterday.

Of course he is a freshman, but for a guy I was told is better than Joe Montana already I am not so impressed

Don't get too critical of Clauson in his second game under the watchful eye of Charlie. He does have talent. Compare his first two games with what Mitch did at Arkansas and you will know why Scottie is going to get rich with his Mitch and Me book and merchandise deals.

1.Cal beat Tennessee

2.USF beat Auburn

3. Wash.St. hung with Wisconsin

4. Les Miles said the SEC is so rough and USC plays a bunch of pansies in the Pac 10

5. LES MILES IS AN IDIOT

If anyone wants to see what ND football is about watch this:

Oh ...and this too..they are evidently doing their marcus vick impressions this year..

Agree that Les Miles is an idiot. His schedule ain't all that either and as far as the LSU start is concerned. Given, they have a great team, but what kind of challenges has he really had so far? Stanford errr I meant Mississippi St?, and a probably vastly overrated Va.Tech who barely eeked out 17 points at home vs East Carolina and is obviously still in the dysfunctional stages from the mass murders that has disrupted everything within that program. Va.Tech started an inept QB that only started because the backup was a true freshman and the freshman had to finish that game. Miles also had this game at home.

So Les, your outstanding team sure don't suck but you sure as hell do! So go enjoy running it up on Middle Tenn next week and the media will soon have you over take the Trojans in the polls.

Tabloid bool$#*T again, don't you get tired of the youtube garbage? Is that the CFB knowledge you can display? If so you are a sorry clownish moron...

Until JC is surrounded by a good supporting cast he can't prove anything. It is that simple. He had that at OC, welcome to CFB, speed and more speed...

Door Prize, JC threw 3 INTs in the state championship game last year, although his game won despite his efforts. Oaks Christian also faced very little competition in the Division III section, so the concepts of "throwing under pressure" and "sacks" are gonna be a little unfamiliar to him. Good luck with the learning curve.
