Matthews Starts

Clay Matthews gets his first career start with Brian Cushing (ankle) not 100 percent.
Cushing "might" be able to play, Pete Carroll said.
"We'd like to see him play some to see how he does," Carroll said of Cushing.

I have nothing against Clay Matthews. He's got a lot of heart and is a real team player and a good Trojan.

But let's cut through the old crap cake here. There is a big drop off in talent level from Cushing to Matthews. This really hurts. BC is the defense team leader. As far as I know, Cushing was a 4 or 5 star recruit and CM was a walk on.

Why don't they play Thomas Williams?

Is everyone else as sick of hearing about LSU as I am? I mean, they are letting Les Miles trash talk his way into the #1 spot. Every friggin' show is "Oooo is LSU going to pass USC?? Les Miles might of had a point..."

Don't these sports writers have their own brain?

As long as SC takes care of business Saturday night there is nothing to worry about. The #1 spot will stay secure.

it's all about hyping and raising the interest level for the early season.

I could care less-we make our own destiny.

WHY NOT Chris Galippo? He is projected to be better than Rivers, Rey Or Cushing...
Thank you

Matthews was all over the field vs. Idaho and looked good. Granted, it was Idaho, but I was impressed...

Coffeeman:
With ALL due respect to you and Mr. Matthews. Mr. Matthews got the name but he's NOT anywhere near the LB his father was. I was told by a USC former alum and former LB as well that Clay Matthews is NOT that good in coverage. You ALL know the kind of great athlete Chris Galippo is.
Thank you

Yes, let's start a true freshman linebacker against Nebraska at Lincoln. Galippo has a great pedigree, but let him earn his way onto the field like everyone else.

why not T-Williams. hes the man and has done more then Matthews.

Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
