Telling comment from Pete Carroll's press conference: "John David (Booty) is doing a great job."
Of course Carroll also said Monday the cornerbacks did a great job against Nebraska.
Well he didn't do a bad job, Scott. I think PC is just trying to light a little fire under him, like "If you wanna win the Heisman you better be at 110% all the time"
Another thing, I don't know if Scott agrees with me or not, but this USC-LSU oneupmanship is going to get irritating by the end of the year.
LSU bashed VT, USC destroys Nebraska..LSU will cream Mississippi next week (isn't that who they play? If not my apologies) USC will feel they have to cream Washington st. by even more to stay #1...then LSU will only win by 4, but USC will only win by 5...
Oh the Drama!!
I mean, when did LSU get into this anyway?? As far as I know USC is #1. This whole thing makes me sick it's just Les MIles trash talking his team into the spotlight.
Going into Nebraska and running train through their front seven is, I think, ample enough reason for Booty to have a game like he did. Why force the pass when you can open 20-foot gaps in the d-line?
If Booty wants the Heisman, he needs to get some high light reels rolling. I see two(2)things he needs to do immediately to effect this. (1). Put some air under the balls and give the receivers a chance to adjust to the pass. (2) Stop staring down his receiver, he is making it difficult for them to get open.
And Jay don't forget #3: Have his number one receiver catch the ball (PT).
I remember the loss to Kansas State when Carson Palmer kept drilling a new young guy Mike Williams in the hands repeatedly and he couldn't catch a cold. Pete kept him in and threw at him until he improved. Turned out pretty good in the long run. JDB and his young core of receivers will find their way over the next few weeks to build the dual-threat and we will be unstoppable!
If the opposing defenses want to crowd the line to stop the run it will be a great season for the Trojan passing offense. I would not bank on Booty being unable to complete passes to open 5 star receivers for much longer.

2 Funny. I remember that game like it was yesterday. However, JDB is not exactly drilling every pass. I admit PT was drilled on one he dropped. The pass probably scared him. You know coming straight at him like that on a frozen rope with vapor trail.
I sure hope so, because when I am IN South Bend Oct. 20th. I want an AERIAL display. Every time JDB goes back to pass I want to yell "INCOMING". I want them to break the DOMERS friggin score board. I want extreme revenge for treatment of us fans($500 tickets) and our Players from game in 2005.(REED) I don't even want to hear this crap about how they almost beat us ANYMORE ---LEAVE NO DOUBT.
anyway I agree with above.. JDB has got to take a little velocity off the ball...every long pass doesn't have to go 100mph....

I want to thank all of you Monday Morning Coaches...let's see, we have a Quarterback coach, a Receiver coach, and a O Line coach. Not bad for game week 3.
Bill dont you need a "first" loss there ( South Bend) in order to get the second loss there ??? Also I keep reading that Booty is NOT thinking of the Heisman , he just wants to win....where are YOU getting your ideas from? Booty will be fine , he is smart , strong and seasoned now. Let him play and enjoy his time at SC

LSU has to play Florida on their regular schedule. And we have a lot of tough road games (except ND). Keep the verbage coming from the Bayou! That's what makes it fun. If either of us stumbles, it won't matter. If we don't, see you in the Big Easy come January!!

+1 Chet - Sooners and WV have much easier schedules than USC and LSU. FLA might split with the Tigers (assuming they meet in the SEC CG) and Cal or OR might squeak by us on the road. Voters usually are smart enough to reward SOS, but if not...
If this is the year voters finally award the unbeaten over the superior 1 loss teams, we could end up with the Sooners stomping the Mountaineers in the Big Easy. (Sorry, but I have little respect for the BigEas. Although Staton & Crew do have great speed and are fun to watch, the D isn't quite there.) And that would be a shame....

JD needs to stop thinking about the Heismann and start thinking about how he can best help this team win as many games as possible.
Fight On!
If Booby throws on every down at Notre Dame, it will be SC's second loss in a row there!!
2nd loss in a row there?
I guess I Missed something...
