Mark Sanchez just gave all you quarterback junkies something else to talk about all week with an interception.

Why did ABC switch to the Wisconsin-Iowa game from the SC game in the middle of the 3rd? This happened here on the east coast. No announcement, no advanced notice. Whomever else was affected please lodge a complaint to ABC at(860) 766-2236.

I completely agree with East Coast Trojan...

This is something that seriously irritates the hell out of me!! First off, there always talk that the East Coast never gets to watch the Pac-10 play, and when the marquee Pac-10 game is on, why switch it in the MIDDLE of the 3rd quarter?!

I don’t understand why ABC/ESPN are always sucking up to the Big 10. The conference made their Big 10 network for a reason; let people subscribe to it to catch their games. Don’t ruin it for everyone else because the Big 10 lacks common sense – let alone decent competitive teams.

They moved it to Gameplan, if you were willing to fork out the $100 in the preseason. I've had this problem before being a fan of a west coast team on the east coast.

Ok, ok, so Sanchez threw a pick, but his other two throws looked great! the pass to mccoy was awesome!

mark sanchez played fine... he'll be great i think.

i feel bad for CJ Gable. I actually miss the guy. He did so well w/ the few opportunities he's gotten. Why isn't he getting more playing time? I'd be satisfied with Stafon and Gable w/ a little cup of Joe.

SCStrategies Author Profile Page said:

That was a force by Sanchez but he might've even wedged it in there if not for a great play by the Cougar lineman. Same deal with the Booty pick.

I think our defense needs to go through those same ball catching drills as the receivers did last week. It seemed to work for the receivers. Great passing game today.

SCStrategies Author Profile Page said:

By the way, I had to buy ESPN gameplan too. In Kentucky for the year. It was worse last week when this was the only state in the country not showing the USC-Nebraska game on ABC (pre-empted by the Kentucky-Louisville game). It wasn't even on gameplan. Luckily they ended up shifting it to some random cable access channel.

yet ND and Michigan have been on national TV every week....

That guy was friggin huge! RoJo looked like a mosquito tackling him.

The real bummer will be having to watch the Trojans on a non-HD channel. Or a non-HD TV. I'll be in Denver next weekend, and will probably just wait until I get home to watch USC kick Washington up and down the field until I get home.

Fucla you wolfe. You're a turd blossom.

Sanchez is Mr Turnover. He has no business playing Division I football. Never seen anything from him to impress me and tonight was no different.

Trojan RAB Author Profile Page said:

You all are really letting Wolf down, he wants to manipulate everyone into getting into a QB arguement.

So get to it boys!

You can just tell from Sanchez's body language and the way he's been playing recently that he knows his days at USC are coming to an end. I saw it at Salute to Troy, the game against Nebraska, and again against Washington State.

Sanchez sees the writing on the wall and provides more fuel for his detractors. No way he will beat out Mustain in the spring. Hopefully Sanchez can find a decent school to transfer to or he may have to drop down a level to somewhere like Appalachian State if they will take him.

Sam Keller at least had half a season of good play at Arizona State before he transferred to Nebraska for his final season, but Sanchez has done nothing at USC and there is no guarantee that he would even be able to start at another school for one year if he transfers.

Trojan RAB:

What's to argue about? It is painfully obvious to everyone that Mustain is better than Sanchez. So where's the argument?

TrojanCNTV Author Profile Page said:

Agreed, Sanchez is a turnover machine.

It has just become quite clear that Sanchez has not progressed since high school. He constantly gets intercepted in practices by walk-ons and some people say, "Do not judge him on his poor performances in practice, judge him on how he does in scrimmages."

In scrimmages, he has set records for interceptions, fumbles, incompletes and turnovers and some people say, "Do not judge him on scrimmages, judge him on how he can do in real game situations."

Well, whenever he has been given an opportunity to play in real game situations, he has has just stunk up the joint. Sanchez is constantly intercepted and throws incompletes before packed stadiums and national TV audiences.

Sanchez has simply never progressed since high school and, regrettably, he appears to have regressed. In over two years since coming to USC, he has shown nothing on the field to suggest he is worthy of taking over the reins of the starting job. He has been given every opportunity to succeed and he has blown it each and every time. He simply does not have the talent for PAC-10 or high level college football.

It is painfully obvious now why Carroll and Sarkisian recruited Mustain, who by all accounts, has been nothing short of spectacular in practice. Some people are simply out of their league and Sanchez is one of them. There are no more excuses left for Sanchez at this point. He has had ample time to prove himself, so it is time for him to step aside.

I am not even sure if transferring is the best solution for Sanchez, as I am not sure he will do any better at another program. He may just have to consider giving up football altogether and concentrate on getting a degree that will help him in his future. Hopefully he is not majoring in either sociology or communications, so he may have some options ahead of him after football. It's a shame really, because he has been given every opportunity and has never been able to rise to the occasion. He's been a big waste of a valuable scholarship, if you ask me.

Objectively, Sanchez impressed me with his first two throws. The third was an abortion, but Booty had one also. Until a guy plays an entire game, I will reserve judgment.

On a personal level, I have heard the man speak, and he comes across as an articulate gentleman. Undoubtedly something bad came down that night he was arrested, and he will have to live with the shame. But isn't one of the fine attributes of this country the ability to forgive?

TrojanBob Author Profile Page said:

That interception will be good experience for him and will make him better when he starts in 08 and 09 and leads us to another NC. Can't wait!

Mustain will be a great back up and might beat out Corp in 10....

Sanchez sucks. At this point, Corp would be better. Even McDonald would be better than Sanchez. Look at McDonald's game stats the past two years and they have been better than Sanchez's.

Sanchez cannot read defenses and has no accuracy. He is plain bad.

Next!

SCStrategies Author Profile Page said:

Are you anti-Sanchez folks all the same people who were clamoring for Sanchez to get the job over Booty before last year? Or were you the ones defending Booty? I'm just curious.

I say let the coaches decide next year and let's see how their choice plays in real games. I just want us to win games.

I have said it all along, Sanchez will NEVER start a single game at USC.

And I thought America's racial problems were predominately confined to the south (read Jenna 6). Only a bunch of jerk-offs would openly root for the demise of their #2 QB. Anyone see the QB woes of ND and bRUIN rUINs lately? Good of you to see the long-since-removed splinter from Mr. Sanchez's eye but ignore the log in your own. Especially on a Sunday. Shameful.

East Coast Trojan, et al,

I am in Atlanta, I couldn't believe this BS FN Iowa vs Wisc switch. I don't think this will happen on Versus. FABC, F Mustburger 2, what a FN fraud for announcer. He is going to get his ass handed to him when he tries to do a NASCAR race next month. Let me give you a hint you fraud, its EARL not OIL, and its TYRE not TIRE.

For the other frauds on the blog.

You forget Booty was an interception machine. He also got a hellva more playing time because Carson and Lienart were really lighting up the score board.
He still stares down his receivers, balls are getting tipped, some are intercepted and we are still winning.

Wolfie U R a race baiting fraud.

For all true Trojans.

Support the QB

Fight ON!

I think Sanchez must get intimidated when he knows Mustain is watching. At the spring scrimmage, with Mustain looking on, Sanchez was horrible. Yesterday, with Mustain on the sidelines, Sanchez embarrassed himself yet again.

At least with Mustain, we already know he has game experience and is not fazed at all about playing in front of a crowd.

No way Sanchez will beat out Mustain next year.

Trojan RAB Author Profile Page said:

Touche Wolf.

You pulled hate out of a fun game before the weekend was over.

Well played.

Mustain is better than Sanchez and will win the QB battle in the spring with ease.

matthew Author Profile Page said:

I just hope Pete puts it to a vote on this blog. We all know better than the coaches.

Come on, people, it's not like this was exactly unexpected from Sanchez. It was typical garbage, idiotic play from him that has become his trademark. You are all making it sound like it was so shocking. It was not. Sanchez is not very bright (see: arrest for sexual assault), does not posses accuracy as a QB (see: every pass he has made in practice, scrimmages and games), and is not a leader (see: opinions of the other players of the team).

So quit your whining. There are other options out there and Sanchez will never be more at USC than Booty's back-up.

Fight On!

You guys all suck! PC states that fair competition is the determining factor. I believe that PC and his staff know a hell of a lot more than you spoiled whining morons ever will!
SO GET THIS YOU A--HOLES...WHOM EVER WEARS THE CARDINAL AND GOLD AND TAKES THE FIELD FOR MY TROJANS GETS MY FULLEST SUPPORT!!
SO SCREW THE REST OF YOU, WHO POSTED ALL OF THAT REDICULOUS MORONIC BULL$#*& ABOVE!!
Goliathtrojan

Yeah, that was a completely embarrassing bush league move by Sanchez. No excuses for such a BS play by him.

Scott,

I wish you wouldn't post this crap. It does nothing but continue the Sanchez vs Mustain baloney.

I like the way Mark handles the offense. So what if he threw an interception. Booty did too. As a matter of fact Booty threw a couple of Pics in the games that he mopped up for Leinart a couple of years ago. Not to mention the fact that Mustain threw a couple of pics his last game at Arkansas.

I wonder if Mitch wishes he had stayed at Arkansas now that they are doing so bad. Maybe the Razorbacks need him more than the Trojans do.

I completely agree with goliathtrojan. You've got to support your team. Besides, Sanchez threw a couple of lasers and led them on a touchdown drive (taken away by a dubious holding call) and the INT he did throw was more of a ridiculously acrobatic play by the defense (very much like the INT of Booty versus FUCLA last year) I'd like to see the INTs eliminated myself, but when you get so few opportunities, there is a tendency to press. Booty did it in limited action and so is Sanchez.

I really don't get the whole race thing with Sanchez. If people are hating on him for being Mexican I don't really get it. Aside from racism being wrong (and we all know it is) Sanchez looks like he's white. He looks more like Matt Leinart than Anthony Munoz. So I don't get it. And SC fans loved Bush, Smith, Cody, etc. So if there are some racist SC fans out there that don't like Sanchez because he's not white, I don't get it.

FIGHT ON! (and cheer for our own players)

I do not believe this is a racial thing, since the only people bringing race into the equation are the Sanchez supporters. I have not read any attacks on Sanchez due to his race.

As far as Sanchez looking white, well that's just ridiculous. He looks as Latino as they come and I hardly think anyone will ever mistake him for a Caucasian. But that is irrelevant and has nothing to do with his play on the field, either good or bad.

I think the people bringing race into the equation are somehow desperate to find fault with those who criticize Sanchez and they end up hurting Sanchez more than helping him, because they play the race card, which inevitably alienates people.

So do not bring race into the equation. If you want to criticize someone for their play or character, fine. But do not play the race card, no one benefits from that.

Fight on!

Is this even a serious discussion? Say what you will about Leinart's off the field behavior, but there is no denying he is a quite good looking young man. Now would anyone ever describe Sanchez as a good looking, handsome, or a "pretty boy"? Of course not, the boy is a damn ogre! He is not attractive in the least, so let's not insult Leinart by comparing him to someone who looks like Sanchez.

Alright I have been civil for the past two weeks but you moronic idiotic usual suspects are at it again. Don't you rectum holes get tired of the same freaking bool$#*T? Enough damn it. sureshot32 I appreciate some of your comments but you need to retract one comment that unfortunately sounds racist.
A Caucasian is a Caucasian whether the person is from Puerto Rico, Mexico, South Africa or Argentina. Is everybody clear on that? WHY in the DAMN hell some of you Anglos have that stupid misconception? Oh, I think I know it is your divisive standard to separate yourselves and the same time express superiority. It is pathetic and sad that some of you feel that way. I know an USC alum a former LB 6'3" 240 who is mostly "white"according to your "suspect"standards and is married to a Puertorican woman. I hope for your sanity do not dare to throw any of your "separatist"garbage his way or you will be in a hospital: "pronto".
Thank you
PS: You are NOT damn welcome

ALL you QB geniuses make assessments based on two or three plays. One of my biggest accomplishments in college NOT USC was getting a B on my first semester of Organic Chemistry after getting 33% on the first test. According to your "narrow minded scale" I would have been tagged with a dumb A$$ label.
Back to FB when JDB took over for Matt Leinart on all those blow out games he threw an INT in every game. Almost ALL those INT's happened for two reasons:
1. Cold out of the bench
2. JDB threw into double or triple coverage like it happened against the Wash. Cougars last Sat. night. Check the stats and you will confirm my numbers.
If you are going to judge players allow them to perform and then:
Form an intelligent opinion that can be backed based on performance NOT on two or three plays per game.
Thank you
