Open It Up?

Last year, Nebraska coach Bill Callahan was criticized for playing not to lose with a conservative game plan.
He has to be more daring this season but quarterback Sam Keller threw two interceptions against Wake Forest and also fumbled a couple times.

I have no doubt he will. I talked to the big red fans on their boards last year after the game and they were fuming that he played so conservative and didn't air it out.

I just see some more INT's and fumbles coming that way...hahaha

Overly conservative last year ... overly overconfident this year?

“We just need that one big game where we just push over and we become one of the big dogs that someone else has to beat," senior linebacker Corey McKeon said. "It takes one quick game to do that."

"It kind of felt like we went into their place trying to feel it out a little too much," McKeon said of his team's 28-10 loss last season. "You could see it when you watch the game: guys feeling it out, kind of wondering. But the confidence got built in that game. It's not like, 'Oh, my gosh! USC! They're so good!' It was like, 'Oh, my gosh! We should've been even closer than that. We should've been in the game.'

"Now with them coming in here, it just spells a lot of danger for them."

Not impressed with Nebraska's D at all. Watched them give up 17 points to a horrible Wake Forest offense that was missing its stud QB. I predict USC will score at least 30.
Offensively, they can score some points. Keller is a very accurate QB...even though he sometimes forces balls into coverage.
And they have a good 1-2 punch at running back with Lucky and Castile.
Nebraska is better offensively than last year...but not as good on D. I think if USC avoids turnovers they should win by 14 points.

Playing in Lincoln is not like playing in LA. It is much more difficult to win in Lincoln, it will be like nothing USC football has seen. This isn't like some pac-10 sissy.

I am not impressed by USC's offense, pedestrian RBs, sloppy WRs and an avg Joe at QB.

Good luck!

Sorry Beano, Lucky is the only starter at Nebraska who would even see the field at USC.
We will do in Lincoln what we did in Fayetteville and Auburn...and South Bend...and Washington DC...and...you get the idea.
And the Pac-10 was 5-0 against the pathetic Big 12 last year and is already 1-0 this year. You're the one playing in a sissy league.
This isn't Nevada or Wake Forest or whatever other pansies you guys play. You're playing a real football team now. And come Saturday, USC will shut you and your cornhole up.

Vegas has SC favored by 10 points; if it were played in L.A. the line would be 16. Why do the "pros" think SC will win?-- Defense. Both offenses will probably struggle. I would take Booty over Keller, but would take Lucky over our inexperienced backs (if Washington does not play); but the Trojans have more defensive experience, and probably more talent. I would take SC, but not to cover, 20-17.
