Welcome Back
We usually get some Husker fans here this week, so this might be a place to comment on the game. Specifically why they think this year's outcome will be different?

I dont know why they think the outcome will be that much differnet. USC's d is better than it was last year at the time the played Nebraska I believe we're going to give the huskiers fits all day

I don't think we're so much better on defense, not until we get more pressure on opposing defenses and start to cause some turnovers. However, Nebraska does not scare me the way Oregon, Cal, ASU and UCLA do. PAC-10 looks like the best conference this year.

USC looks overrated this year. The coaching staff needs to be revamped and the offense needs to adopt the spread. Also USC needs more athletes on defense. On a good note Florida athlete Jeff Demps has commited to USC.

Nebraska looked pretty slow to me. I expect SC to have no problems.

I hope we bring a lot of pressure on Saturday. There wasn't much aggressive scheming on D against Idaho because it wasn't necessary but the players seemed to want to be aggressive and overran plays. They'll be much more comfortable in a hostile enivornment like NU and running aggressive blitzes.

Here's what I would say:
I have been on husker boards and the fans are great to USC fans. So welcome.
Second, you will see alot of really un-original, stupid meaningless posts on here about USC. Those come from fans of an un-original, stupid, meaningless school called UCLA. Just ignore them.
Third, it's gonna be a great game and I hope no one gets hurt.
Lastly, I think USC has a little more talent and will come out on top. Not the 10 the line says, more like 3 or 4.

Why is everyone so high on USC right now? They seem to have the same team they had last year - minus some guys at WR. Didn't that team lose a few easy ones last year? Did they start out at number 1 because of their defeat of that impressive Michigan team? That Michigan team hasn't changed much since last year either... Too much hype for this USC team. I'm sure they're good, but I don't think they're as good as they think they are.

On Offense, USC has a huge upgrade at FB with Stan Havli. He can block and catch short passes with nice YAC. They now have a versatile speed threat in
Freshman McKnight. The 5 star running backs are now experienced in Gable and Johnson. The Receivers are young but taller than last years. On Defense they are returning 10 guys with help from newcomers Freak Griffen and Chris Galippo.
Regarding Michigan, they lost there whole defense. Are you retarded, Drama?

Fighton that update you read from Rivals was from early August. Jeff Demps changed his mind and chose USC over ASU and FSU.

I have heard nice things about Nebraska fans i.e. that they applaud for a good opposing team performance even if the Huskers lose. I will see firsthand on Saturday. But my favorite fans so far have to be Auburn and Notre Dame's. Auburn for pure intense passion, and ND for sticking with its team to the end.

It's funny how everyone wants to base that Idaho game on the entire season. Trust me and mark it down right here you will be shocked when you see how good USC looks at Nebraska on saturday night you heard here first. Michgan had a better defense last year when you lose a first rounder 2 2nd rounders which were all on defense thats huge to that side of the ball they were overated to me before the year even started. LSU offense didnt play well against MSU defense and then look what they did to VT defense the following week. The first week of football is always a renewing process because some players arent in game shape and arent use to the in game prepartion.

"Why is everyone so high on USC right now? They seem to have the same team they had last year..." - Navy Husker
Well lets see if I can answer that question...maybe because SC has "the same team they had last year"...the one that beat Nebraska, the one that went 11-2, the one that won another BCS Game. Hope that helps!

Giorgio:
Just saying no website has him going anywhere yet.
Hope you are right, but I won't believe it until it is posted somewhere.
SC biggest weakness is no speed at wideout or in the return game, so he would be huge.

Giorgio, no I think our O is just fine. The spread is more used with mobile QB's and misdirection plays.

lawyer john...
you should enjoy your trip to nebraska. you'll come away thinking we're really nice and friendly. people will ask you lots of questions like they've never left nebraska before...but they'd to the same to someone from south dakota or the next town down the road. just a lot of friendly people who enjoy rallying around the football team. just remember to give yourself lots of time to get around. not because of the traffic, but because if you get into a conversation with anyone, it'll take a long time...they'll want to know your kids names, your favorite type of steak....etc.

USC 24 Nebraska 3.
I am a hard core Husker fan, but I have to say, Coach BC is just avg. Coach Coz is a serious downgrade from the last guy we had.
People may not believe me, but talent is about the same. Because of this and the home crowd, an upset is a possibility. Booty may meltdown in Lincoln, it has happened before. He is no Major Applewhite.
Still, don't take this to mean I think USC is great, they are very good, not great. LSU would lay the wood to them.
USC is a quality team with quality coaches, but chalk this loss up to coaches that replaced the powerful option offense with a cheap import.
