About Playcalling

Pete Carroll was asked about USC's last touchdown drive, when the Trojans quickly marched down the field.
``We went into no-huddle mode and so did Oregon,'' Carroll said. ``You can't just do it all the time. It depends on how the game and how it's going.''

I thought that Oregon was in the no huddle most of the game they lined up immediately and looked over the defense and adjusted to how the Defense lined up.

Why is everyone ignoring the elephant in the room! The play calling has been and always will be predictiable while Sark is calling the plays. The PAC 10 defensive coordinators are onto him because he refuses to use the proper personnel packages for the given situation; i.e. fourh and one and he gives it to McNight. McNight, who wieghs all of 175 pounds, is then required to go in motion! IN MOTION! What was he thinking! By putting him in motion that lets everyone watching know he is going to get the ball. And another thing; If Sark calls the play that runs Desmond Reed up the middle one more time, I swear I will not renew my tickets until Sark is fired.

where are your seats? Can I have'em? No matter how bad the Trojans get I'll always support them. They were great when I was an undergrad back in the mid 70's, and as far as I'm concerned they always will be great. I'm proud to be a Trojan.
FIGHT ON!!

I am at the point where I am sick of PC's bs spin on everything.

They were making fun of him on ESPN for all of his:

"They have an incredible offense, the best we ever faced"

"Our QB is very inexperienced"

"It's a big game and we didn't get the breaks"

hey, tell it to someone who cares. Every week I watch USC look like crap on the field, with a pop warner offense led by Mr. Fumble himself Washington, and a bunch of more predictable short passes to Vidal Hazelton who drops 50% of them.

Like Scott said, Stanford had a QB who had never played a game before in his life..enough of the GD "weaning" of the QB's. We have been "slowly weaning the QB" since Leinart left 2 years ago. At what point does the offense open up? In 2020?

Check the front page article today on www.wearesc.com to see what they think of the play calling of "Sark"

PC has been in a shell since Leinart/Bush left and isn't coming out. He's got all his cronies around him and they are clueless when it comes to putting an offense together, so they sit and cross their fingers and hope the defense can hold.

And if it doesn't...

"They have the best offense we have ever faced..."

and yeah yeah I know, no one wants to hear my opinion.

Your right I am an idiot, we are awesome.

Why aren't we #1???

The problem on offense has by obvious since the Idaho game, it is the receivers. You can always nit pick play calling, but if McKnight gets a first down, everyone thinks it is a great play. The recievers lack speed and can not strech the field. Mike Williams had Keary Colbert. Dwayne Jarrett had Steve Smith. Now we are all stuck with big slow WR's. We miss guys like Travon Patterson, Jamere Holland and Derrick Jones.

I just don't know why we've lost our creativity on our O-schemes! It is so obviouse what every one of our plays is. I'm all for giving the coaches the benefit of the doubt, but its really getting rediculous.

Seems like the no-huddle is very effective against us, didn't Texas use it in the NC game? We need more from the O Coordinator, maybe Sark needs to give up one of his jobs. We seem to be too obvious, and everyone has so much film on us, all of our plays are known. Time for some new blood.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
