That's the hope. The Trojans just need to keep fighting and maybe something good will come of this season afterall.

If we're not playing for the NC, at least put us in a game against another underperforming national power like Florida.

The Rose Bowl or an at-large BCS berth are not out of the question.
10-2(7-2) is a pretty impressive resume for any PAC 10 team in 2007.
I'm not sure if Hawaii being in the top 12 or 14 could be an obstacle to the Fiesta.
Possible Rose Bowl Scenario:
USC Wins Out
Oregon Wins Out
ASU loses to USC and Oregon
Oregon goes to BCS CG
USC goes to Rose Bowl

Conventional wisdom on most sites is that Oregon will defeat ASU and USC will eke out a win at Cal.
Assuming no other upsets, a huge assumption, the Thanksgiving game between ASU-USC will have Fiesta Bowl stakes on the line with the loser getting the Holiday Bowl trip.

I agree with Palm. SC can and should win their remaining games. Hope the offensive coaching staff is up to the task.

TNT, I love your pick. I'm don't think you realize how special that would be for us. Hope you nailed it!

I think losing to guys who do this to each other is pathetic...stay away from the Oregon locker room!

Good point T4life, and don't you think that we should also ban butt slapping and belly bumping too. Oh, and for the especially hetero-fragile we should also do away with the really gay hand holding on the line. Thanks for brining me around on the important issues.

Here's how I see that playing out:
ABC: "A rematch of the NC game!! Bowl game of the year!! EVERYONE WILL BE WATCHING!"
Before the game Presser:
PC : "Oklahoma has the greatest offense ever, in the history of mankind. I have never seen an offense this good. They can do whatever they want. This is a challenge I relish. I love this challenge as a coach."
The entire O line is intact with JDB starting. Trojan fans are up in arms. "We will kill them now and maybe be #1!!"
1st Q: Lots of runs up the middle with CW for 3 yards and short slants to Havili who promptly fumbles, and 15 yards is tacked on for a Chilo Rachal personal foul. The obligatory 1 attempt per game at a long pass to Ronald Johnson is intercepted.
7-0 Oklahoma.
2nd Q: More runs up the middle with CW and Johnson, who are telegraphing every play, and the predicatable ronald johnson reverse, and another Chilo Rachal personal foul, with an McKnight illegal motion throw in for good measure. PC starts his "staring into space with disbelief" look early.
17-0 Oklahoma Halftime
3rd Q: PC yells at everyone in the locker room and USC puts 1 drive together. Musberger yells about how "Old Mo" is now on USC's side. Steve "don't call me predicatable" Sarkisian mixes up the play calling a little and USC controls the time of possesion. Hey, they even punt the football and don't get called for a penalty!
17-10 Oklahoma
4th Q: The Trojan 2007 traveling retard show gets back to form, with more McKnight reverses on 4th and 1, the now common USC QB (insert booty, sanchez, whoever) running for his dear life with the ball hanging out 3 yards in the air, and the standard 4 yard flare to PT. Musberger wonders why USC doesn't stretch the field and 300 million other americans wonder, too. But Steve "brainiac" Sarkisian is back in form. USC's defense gets tired, Oklahoma makes it 24-7 on another blown assignment by Rey M. PC will later say the defense couldn't be blamed since Havili had fumbled it on the USC 9 yard line again.
Musberger says "It starting to look bad for ol' USC!" and gives away more of our signals.
Final 2:00 : JDB drives the team to 24-17, then USC gets a miracle on side kick. With :10 seconds to go, true to form , JDB gets another pass batted down, then heads for the bar and some drinks.
Post game presser:
PC: "Well we had some bad breaks today. WE didn't get turnovers. They are the greatest offense I have ever seen, and ..um..."
2008 Street & Smith preview mag: USC with more #1 recruits at their postion that any other team:
UNRANKED

per College Football News:
Pacific Life Holiday Bowl
Dec. 27 / 8 p.m. San Diego, Calif. ESPN
Tie-Ins: Big 12 No. 3 vs. Pac-10 No. 2
Projection: Texas vs. USC

The CBS site had USC playing Texas A & M in the Holiday and ASU in the Fiesta.
Palm has USC and ASU switched(different opponents) so there is a consensus that that Thanksgiving game will be huge!
Duckman-
Great win Saturday and well-deserved! Did you think the Ducks would be held to 24 points?

Be thankful if anything but the toilet bowl is on the horizon!
We can lose the remaining four games and become ineligible at 6-6, and the way we have played this season, it is entirely possible unless the playcalling and penalties do not change dramatically.

I think with 6 wins USC is already bowl eligible, although they may not be invited to one.
Was FSU 6-6 last year in the Emerald Bowl?

yeah, does anyone else find it amazingly odd that the Basketball team is ranked higher then the football team???
USC Football - 19 in the BCS
USC Basketball - 18 in the Coaches poll.
strange strange days are ahead. I blame OJ Mayo! :)

I would love a USC-Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl...Heck, even that Holiday Bowl scenario against Texas doesn't sound too bad.
But here's to Oregon going to the National CG and hoping the ACC doesn't get two BCS teams. And go Huskies against Hawaii late in the year.

The Basketball team would have to be ranked higher in the RPI for that comparison to be valid.
BB = #18 Coaches' Poll
FB = #15 Coaches' Poll
But we should be excited for SC BB this year. We haven't been this respected since Clancy was here.
