Cartoon Of The Day
If you clicked on the Morning Buzz link below, you probably saw a John McKay quote about Stanford following a victory in 1972.
``I'd like to have beaten them by 2,000 points,'' McKay said. ``They have no class. They're the worst winners we've ever come up against.''
Well, here's a priceless cartoon from the following year, which shows USC leading Stanford, 1,992-0, and McKay telling Pat Haden if the Trojans score on the final play, ``We go for two.''

Stanford was coming off of back to back Rose Bowl wins, if my recall of history is correct, and were pretty full of themselves. That was there last hurrah, and after years of losing I would say they have learned the meaning of humility.
Oregon is the current "worst winner." You wear your SC colors in Oregon and you risk getting into a fight.
Cal and UCLA are poor winners also. If they beat you it is not enough; they have to rub it in. Of course, they might accuse SC of the same, but most of the Trojans fans are benign compared to Bears and Bruins.

Lawyer John just said what I was about to say...the were in their heyday and just had Jim Plunkett and had Beaten Ohio st. in the Rose Bowl and all that...so you can't blame them for being a little arrogant..

Notre Dame and UCLA fans are the worst, and anyone from the SEC..if they beat you, you will hear about it everyday for the next 5 years with all the details about how superior their teams has been since 1880 or something...

Wolfie, we love those old-school SC pictures & stories.
McKay had the best quotes ever. He was an incredible coach, a larger-than-life character who was also a terrific father-figure to the guys.
Keep them coming!

I have to say that U$C is by far the worst winners of all time.

There is no way USC could score 2000 points with Booty at quarterback consistently hitting the defensive linemen in the shoulder pads with his passes. He will have more tipped passes then touchdown passes!
Two more days of practices and some of the cheerleaders will be playing offensive line!
