Computer Curse

Two weeks ago, LSU was No. 1 in the BSC computer rankings; then they lost to Kentucky. Last week, South Florida had the best computer ranking and lost to Rutgers. This week, the computers' top school is Boston College. The Eagles play at Virginia Tech Thursday night.

That shows you the value of computer rankings.

Even worse is that it shows the relevance, predictability and effectiveness (or more importantly lack thereof) of the current "BCS computer models" with respect to evaluating the present as the basis for re-calibrating their predictions of the future.

In other words, they're utterly useless at computing the only thing that actually matters. Their models are flawed...garbage in...garbage out.
