Fifty Passes

| | Comments (8) |

John David Booty threw about 50 passes before practice, none more than 20 yards. He showed progress from the day before but clearly wasn't ready to play yet.
``It felt better than I expected but the accuracy is not what I wanted right now,'' Booty said.
Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian said Booty's passes were not ``coming out like normal. But I would expect them too.''

JDB thinks he is accurate? Thanks for the quote Scott, I needed a good laugh.

LMAO!

What did I say weeks ago?

JDB should be known as Just Disappointing Booty.

All he does is disappoint the team and fans.

Throw his ass under the bus! OMFG, it is already October 2007. I was complaining about the same things with Booty for the past year! The only difference is NO Kiffin Bashing, as Lame is gone.

Well, Scott says Grossman threw no passes more than 20 yards. Oops, I meant Booty (can you see the sarcasm?). Is that a surprise? Has this BUST thrown any pass more than 20 yards successfully? Whenever Rex (or is it Trent Dilfer?) throws a long pass, I expect it to be incomplete or intercepted! Some confidence our WRs must have in going over the middle....

If no Sanchez on Saturday, then it is...VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Here, I found these on Yahoo!....

There's a good possibility the Trojans will have to take that step with sophomore Mark Sanchez making his first career start at quarterback, replacing the injured John David Booty.

That scenario worked for Stanford against USC, with Tavita Pritchard stepping in for T.C. Ostrander.

"It's clear in my mind and the offensive coaches that Mark's getting ready to play," Carroll said. "I'm heading into the game believing that Mark's going to start and lead us to a victory.'

"We're not sure what's going to happen with John David this week. It could turn out that if John David's OK, we might hold him in reserve."

"It's an exciting opportunity for me," Sanchez said. "I've just got to be ready to play if they need me. It's just about being prepared. It's a tough atmosphere not to get excited about that. I've just got to be cool.

"If anybody's ready for this, I think I am. I haven't done this many interviews since high school. I'm cherishing the moment. It's a matter of taking the keys to this awesome sports car we have and not crashing."

LET THE MARK SANCHEZ ERA BEGIN! No more loyalty to that BUST Rex Grossman #10 on our roster...this can be PC's perfect time to throw THE BUST under the bus and make it look like it "wasn't a coaches decision"! SWEET!

Booty needs to throw more than 50 passes.

More like 5,000.

Practice makes perfect.

You're gonna need Booty to come off the bench in December after Bruce Davis rips Sanchez apart. Well, that is if your clueless coach PC has the balls and intelligence to bench Booty and start Sanchez, which seems iffy at best.

13-9 LADIES!

Fool, you got beat by a winless Notre Dame team. Please. It's the only thing that kept us from being the only laughing stock of the nation.

Wow...the bruins are actually giving USC quaterback advice. Wait...I think Bethel just threw another interception. Maybe Cowen and Olsen can hobble on over and give him some pointers. LMAO!

I don't know who Mark Sanchez is, but the backup quarterback who's been on the sidelines every game this season is definitely Vincent Chase. I say we give him a chance.

Why start now?

Actually, I don't want to pile on Booty any more than everyone already has. It's not all Booty's fault for the way this team has played (B. aggressive B. E. aggressive) but he hasn't helped any either. I am anxious to see what Mark Sanchez will do when given an entire game to work out nerves and settle down. He hasn't done all that well in games so far, but it's got to be tough to play a couple snaps per month. I'm not sure we can really judge him on that. It'd be akin to having Vlad go out and take a few cuts as a pinch hitter, striking out a few times, and then calling him a bust. You've gotta give these guys a real shot to play extended minutes to really know what they have. One series every four games just doesn't give you any body of evidence to work from.
That said, go Sanchez! I want to see some good play and some deep balls out of this offense this week. (hint: maybe throw to the opposite side of Cason this week though, huh?)
FIGHT ON!
