I would have to agree with USC_89. Our current starters cannot outrun their own shadows. Unless they are going to give Ronald Johnson more playing time, this will be a difficult task for Sanchez. Hope I am wrong.

One cannot but notice how quiet the MM fan club is on Sanchez’s start... they hate it but cannot come out and say it directly or they will look like anti SC fans.

Yes, I agree with you 100% that the usual suspects/MM faithful are hoping Mark fails, what else is new? Expect at least the first quarter to be conservative so that MS gets confident and comfortable with underneath short passing routes mixed with runs and a reverse or two. Does anybody know if the shotgun is going to used? MS has to be himself and go with the flow. Being the first game I doubt that he'll have the green light to change any plays at the line. Finally let's hope that the receivers run the routes like they are supposed to. Let's hope for the best. Good luck Mark!

I think the protection was pretty solid for most of the snaps, but JDB can't scramble to save his life. Sanchez can, and we'll be seeing a few more scrambles for 1st downs now. Not a bad thing....

On the first offensive play, I suggest a play action, max protect, and hit a deep pass (Rojo? Hazelton? McKnight?) to let the defense know they cannot stuff eight in the box. The defense is going in thinking that that Sanchez will be conservative at the start. Instead, let him air it...the element of surprise.

While I still like Mustain in '08...I hope Sanchez goes out and lights up Zona for 300 yards and 4 TDs...because I really would like to see USC get a solid win...and I REALLY just want to read Door Prize's posts on Monday! Good luck to Sanchez!
