In The Spotlight
Mark Sanchez threw an interception and fumbled a snap in practice but said overall he felt relaxed and ready to start his first college game.
``I feel pretty comfortable,’’ he said. ``It’s just a different feeling. I don’t like it or not like it. But every kid dreams of being a starting quarterback.’’

Still better than Booty I suppose.
Is the Arizona game on ABC?
I imagine seeing signs for ABC in the crowd.
Ain't

Confused???
Such as above.

The funny thing is that you would give your right labia for Booty on your team, instead of starting Bethel-Mcclain-Thompson-Suarez-Osama-Fumble-Oopsie as your QB.
You have zero right to even talk about our QB situation.
Losing to Stanford sucked pretty bad, but at least they had beaten somebody and actually moved the ball and scored TDs with their offense.
How did it feel to have the Irish score 20 on you with 140 yards of offense and giftwrapped TDs? lol

What a surprise, Sanchez threw yet another interception in practice. Does this guy love turnovers? Every day it's the same thing with him. I was nervous with Booty but I am TERRIFIED if Sanchez starts on Saturday. Arizona is as awful a team as there is, so the win should be easy...in spite of Sanchez. I can't wait until Booty is fully recovered so we don't have to rely on Sanchez ever again.

RC4SC,
If you don't want to support them team don't. Practice does not always translate into real games. If you were an SC fan you would want Mark to well. I find it funny that you think that your personal agenda is more important that than the good of the team. Mark needs support this week, not retards like you who think that you are bigger than the program.

Based on Scott's blog entry there is no way of knowing if the miscues were even Sanchez's fault.
Call off the dogs 'SC "fans"...

I too dreamt of being a starting quarterback at SC. I walked on the team, and did not realize my dream. But having attempted was enough. And I think I know the feeling Sanchez is experiencing this week. Awesome.

100 NCAA Titles, Are you REALLY talking smack after losing to a really, really bad 0-5 Notre Dame Team (you know the team that lost 38-0 to the team that lost to 1-AA Appalachian State) at home?

JJ, I would hold your tongue until SC plays ND....After all, UCLA went up to Stanford and beat them by 28 WITH Stanford's starting QB. Watch out for UofA. They have a better Dline than Stanford....

Pete said something interesting at his press conference regarding Sanchez. He said Sanchez is a real gunslinger, not as conservative as Carson, Matt, or JD. Now I don't remember Matt and Carson being all that conservative, but it actually made me feel better about this QB situation. Perhaps Sanchez throws a lot of picks in practice BECAUSE he's a gunslinger and not because he's inept or makes bad reads. Maybe he's just too aggressive (like a Favre or a Romo) and tries to force it in there. That would make me much happier because USC could then force the tempo a little bit and the coaching staff could pull back on the reins and get him to take less chances. It's much better to be a guy that makes mistakes because you're taking chances than a guy who makes mistakes because he has no idea of what's going on in the offense or can't read defenses. I'm hoping that's the case, and I guess only time will tell.

2 points:
We have NO playmakers on offense (or NONE the coaching staff will play).
We have NO players with the "it" factor on offense (or NONE the coaching staff will play).
Sanchez shows emotion. He CAN throw the deep ball. Let him energize the team instead of Booty. The playcalling may be conservative but it's already conservative when when we don't throw the ball more than 7 yards.

HERE IS THE TRUTH ABOUT BOOTY... THIS HURTS ME TO SAY BUT HE WAS OVERATED.HE NEVER MAKES BIG PLAYS, HE LOOKS SCARED WHEN HE DROPS BACK TO PASS,FLUSH HIM OUT OF THE POCKET THEN HE IS IN REAL TROUBLE.HE IS A SHOTGUN QB BUT CESAR WONT USE IT! GO FIGURE... HAS BOOTY EVER REALY HAD A HUGE GAME OTHER THAN THE SECOND HALF OF THE ROSE BOWL? BOOTY CAN'T OPEN UP THE GAME HE IS NOT A DEEP THREAT.. ALL OF HIS BIG PASSES WERE BIG GAINS BY FRED DAVIS GO WATCH YOU TUBE HIGH LIGHTS OF THE PLAYBOY [matt] HE MOVED THE CHANES WITH EASE. SANCHEZ WILL OPEN THE GAME, WHO CARES IF HE GETS PICKED ONCE OR TWICE HE WILL GO DEEP AND USE THE TALENT... TURNER #NO 1 HIGHSCHOOL RECRUIT, VIDEL #1 RECRUIT ETC ETC ITS TIME -4- MARK SANCHEZ.

Make more big plays than interceptions and everyone overlooks the interceptions. Booty's mistakes were just killing us, and he wasn't making enough big plays to overcome those mistakes. The coaching staff will probably take advantage of Sanchez' scrambling to gain some first downs and keep the defense off balance.

I remember Scott saying Booty didn't throw an interception in fall practice for like 20 straight days. Then he throws 6 picks in 2 games. I just hope Sark and Carroll take the diapers off, and Sanchez plays with confidence.

Booty had his opportunity to lead the Trojans! I agree with comments above Booty doesn't hit the big play often enouogh and cannot sell the screen. Booty stares down receivers and cannot properly read defenses. He and the offense are too conservative (when is the last time you saw Booty hit the backside post on the waggle?). Sanchez offers a strong arm and more mobility to a struggling offense. It's time to groom him for the rest of this season, a bowl game, and then a couple of good runs at the title. It's time for the Sanchez Era for the Trojans to begin on Saturday!
