We talked a University of San Diego player who played for current Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh.
"He's crazy, he really," the player said. "But he does know a lot about football and knows what he's doing. But he's different."

You have to be a little crazy to play the game of football (and probably to coach it as well). Having a contradictory personality that requires almost sociopathic tendencies on the field does not translate well to normalcy off the field.

American style football should be banned because of its inherently dangerous qualities, but of course it will not be because it is so deeply ingrained in our culture.
