Personally, I Prefer Beano Cook
Here's Lou Holtz's quote today about USC. Holtz is a bit of an enigma. He doesn't like USC but he's also friends with Pete Carroll.
``I don't see a team that would scare me to play them...Oregon would scare me to play, I'd be scared to death to play California and even Arizona State but not Southern Cal, not right now, and I'm not sure the problems they have can be corrected within a week or two.''
And here's Mark May: “This is a team defensively they're playing extremely well, but the problem is on offense, they’re not converting on offense they haven't found their rhythm on offense, they're not playing as a team...yes they had injuries on the offensive line and at the running back position and now the quarterback position but the bottom line with USC's depth and talent they shouldn't be struggling on offense against teams like Washington, Stanford and Arizona.”

May speaks the truth. The D is okay but is suffering from injuries (which is a whole other topic and significant problem.)
The offense is a complete joke! Not a stretch to call it Hackett-esque.
USC is very beatable and everyone in the Pac-10 knows it. The Trojans could finish anywhere from 10-2 to 7-5. My money is on the later.
This team sucks and will continue to suck until Pete Carroll gets some help a la Chow, O, Davis, Kennedy P, Carl Smith, etc. Pete is going to learn the hard way he cant do everything.
This is the best Pete can do with the best talent in the nation that he hand picked and the result of four #1 recruiting classes? The 2002 team, which was made up mostly of Hackett recruited players, could destroy the 2007 team.
Chicken Little, er, USC89, is jumping off the band wagon. Good riddance.
Get used to close defensive battles for the rest of the year. Not every game can be a blow out. We took control in the 4th quarter, and dominated them on defense - that was missing against the Huskies and Cardinal.
It doesn't matter how many 4 & 5 star recruits you have if they are injured and not playing. The OL is decimated. What do you expect? Yary? Munoz? Budde? Matthews? We are down to 2nd and 3rd stringers.
Without a healthy OL, the offense will struggle. What part of that simple thought do you not grasp?
FIGHT ON!!
Yep, that is pretty much what you would expect from Holtz. Perhaps next year, the current ND coach will be giving his 2 cents worth from the press box. Dont count the fellows out yet, injuries heal, and the guys playing now looked like they playing at a new level in the 4th quarter.
Until Booty comes back, if USC relies on the running game, they will win. If the coaches allow Sanchez to throw, guaranteed losses will follow. Sanchez has no accuracy and can't read a defense in any way. Just hand off to Joe McKnight or Ronald Johnson and USC will win.
Take Sanchez out of the equation and make him a handoff QB and the risk is gone. Allow him to actually throw and he'll stink up the joint, resulting in one loss after another.
Lou Holtz: terrified of Navy...not so much when it comes to USC.
Also...Mark May is right? Why world is crashing down upon me.
Come on, everyone knows that Lou Holtz is on ESPN for comic relief and to be a foil for Mark May. Holtz is a buffoon who embraces the role. I only hope ND is deluded enough to believe Holtz' nonsense.
