Pick The Score

It's an early game, so time to get those picks out there. As a tiebreaker, pick the score of the Arsenal-Liverpool game or select the number of timeouts USC calls during the first quarter.

Oregon 27
USC 14

Hate to admit it, it doesn't look good with Sanchez at the helm. Oregon isn't the joke Notre Dame is.

With Sanchez, we'll probably call all three timeouts within the first 30 seconds!

USC 27-20 The Trojan defense rises to the occasion and stuffs the run. Dixon is forced to pass, and gets picked twice. USC is able to run the ball, control the clock, and win a close ball game. FIGHT ON!!

Arsenal 0 - Liverpool 0 (Isn't that the final score of most soccer matches?)

No first quarter TOs, but maybe a few false start penalties before USC quiets the crowd.

Wait a minute Voodoo. Since when did we start giving out free passes for penalties...especially false starts???

34-31

Oregon 24
USC 23

USC has a chance at the end and the much maligned Oregon D steps up for a stop. I think Booty comes in for a pick.

Arsenal 0- Liverpool 54 (Liverpool’s D is worse than Oregon’s)

USC 35-14

good one SW about # of timeouts we will call

USC 31
UO 23

Pete calls three timeouts to mull over dinner plans with Sark. (I don't think you can blame MS for the second timeout from the ND game. He called that on the 4th down attempt that Pete eventually changed to a punt. I think PC wasn't sure what he wanted to do and since he's not known as a clock management guru, that's what you get)

Love to admit it, SC will look grrreat with MS at the helm again! He will out gain Dixon in rushing and passing yards!!!

Soccer score - WGAS

0 timeouts 1st Quarter

Expect Mark to perform efficiently and solidify the position. JDB will make a fine backup. Also, watch for Stafon, JMac and Hazelton to light up the Yuck defense.

TO 1

USC will limit Oregon's rushing to manageable number of yards, Stafon Johnson and Chauncey Washington will be effective running the ball against this porous Nick Alioti defense, Vidal Hazelton and Fred Davis catch some long passes from Sanchez and Oregon will turn the ball over a couple of times.

30-20

USC 20 Oregon 35

Oregons offense isnt its usual scoring machine self, but still has some big plays that go for TD's..with the crowd behind them the Oregon D plays like Stanford's did, physical, intense, and tough for 4 quarters.
MS goes out in the 2nd Qtr with a back injury due to a nasty sack. JDB goes in and throws his token 1 pick per quarter and the offense waddles out of the duck pond with another L.
Everyone on the trojan blogs goes ballistic, someone starts the website 'firecoachcarroll.com', and Karl Dorrell grins from ear to ear(which might be impossible) knowing that his archnemesis across town is feeling the heat. Everyone cries Wo is Me in trojanland until reality sets in......that SC's team is a good one, just not as good as those of recent past and that we will be back next year loaded with talent AND EXPERIENCE.

Q Anyone know if the trojan dinner tonight consists of roast duck? that would be fitting wouldnt it? If they do, I hope the chef burns it and they have to throw it out so the boys can eat something that tastes good.

Cheers to CAL in AZ...
Cheers to TYrone and his huskies.....

UO - 28
USC - 27

Oregon will be held to a season low 350 yards (and less than 100 total rushing) SC will have too many penalties against them (read: false starts and personal fouls) and turn the ball over too many times against a raucous Autzen stadium crowd to win this game.

Sanchez will play better than expected but will ultimately throw a couple costly ints, JoeyMac will fumble once and C-Dub will dance behind the line too much before hitting the hole to help sustain drives.

SC will have a chance to win it in the end, but a costly special teams miscue ultimately ends up finishing off what was one of the all-time great runs in college football…

USC: 34
Ducks (not Stanley Cup Champions): 29

one time out in the first quarter... to have the officals review a play... from last year's Oklahoma game.

I like the NHL Ducks.

SC Good Guys 37
UO Ucks Bad Guys 27

Remember that statistically, the Ucks defense is worse than NDs. Latin Baby Elway Mark Sanchez has an oustanding, disciplined game and the O-line dominates. Biggest question is Stafon...if he feels good, we have a strong running game. If not, Chauncey "Tiny Dancer" and Joe Mc underperform, and we might be in trouble. 2 running TDs for Sanchez, passing TD to Freddie, and 60 yd TD run by Stafon. Vidal also has several nice catches and Havili breaks 30 tackles for 90 yards on 4 rushes and 3 receptions, all for first downs. Defense bends, but rarely breaks, Dixon fumbles twice, throws 3 picks, Stewart runs for 65 yards, Rey and Cush have 2 sacks each, Ellison and Taylor both have highlight reel hits on Uck WRs over the middle, Sed and LJ dominate the line of scrimmage, and Kyle M knocks down 3 passes and disrupts 2 option pitches. Also, 500 UO Uck fans get arrested and, sadly, 3 Trojan fans are hit by beer bottles.

Now, if Stafon can't run, we really might be in trouble. And, I hate to even think about it, but IF we have to lose one of our last 5 games, I think this is the one to lose. UO is the highest ranked P-10 team, so they could make it to the Sugar Bowl. And, IF we were to win the final four, I believe we would finish in the top-10 and likely finish 2nd in conference, placing SC in the Rose Bowl. Remember, if we lose a close one, the season is NOT lost! But, I truly believe we will pull this one out behind Baby Latin Elway and a Def that plays their best game.

Arsenal 3 'Pool 1
1st Qtr TOs - 1

I think trojanman is closer to what the final score will actually be.

It probably will be a shootout with USC's defense making the difference. Oregon has a lot of troublesome injuries, and Sanchez has the brains and the brawn to dissect the weakest part of the Duckies. Oregon leads 17-14 at halftime, but Uncle Pete makes some great halftime adjustments and USC gets stronger in the second half en route to a 38-31 triumph. Everybody in Eugene finds out that young Joe M. is a better future Heisman candidate than Dixon. And the liquor stores in the state of Oregon run dry and the Wal-Mart's all run out of Kleenex.

Now, pass me the Roman Meal.

SC 41

Oregon 23

1 S.C. timeout in the first qtr.... Time to "QUACK 'EM UP" !!!!!

How about something more realistic, like..

How many times will Joe McKnight fumle?

How many stupid penalties will USC have?

How many blocked kicks will USC allow?

How many Trojans get knocked out the game due to injury?

SC 31

SC 31
UO 28

Notre "Suck-a-lot" Dame 100

TO 1
Fight On!

SC 34
Ore 28

Sanchez effectively runs a ball control offense, Johnson rushes for over 100 yds, d-line and backers are able to contain stewart and dixon.

38-14 USC

Ducks come out in green jerseys and get spanked 24-6. Arse n' all wins 1-0.

USC 44 Oregon 33

Oregon scores two TD in the last 3 minutes of the game against SC's 3rd team defense playing soft zone prevent to make the score respectable, with Belotti and Dixon saying that Oregon just ran out of times.
