Question Time

Who should start at tailback?
Joe McKnight's probably not ready and Stafon Johnson should play against Notre Dame but should he start after missing two games? Hershel Dennis was merely a decoy when Pete Carroll said last week he would be the No. 2 back.
Does this mean Chauncey Washington, who averaged three yards a carry against Arizona, gets yet another start?

If he is healthy, Stafon should be our starter! He has been our most productive back, and I believe has the highest YPR on the team. But, I am certain that Pete will start Chauncey due to his seniority and reliability. I just hope that he replaces him quickly with Stafon. Who would have thought that we would miss CJ and Moody so much this year!

Easy question, no doubt Chauncey gets start. Stafon will come in quick though if he is healthy and Chauncey stumbles (more than likely). I really hoped Chauncey would grow into a great back this year, but to be fair, he really hasn't had the great o-lines that Leinart and Bush had.

By all means Chauncey "Tiny Dancer" Washington should be the starter. His footwork and dance moves behind the line would win him "Dancing With The Stars" this television season. No one dances until the hole closes better than the Chauce.

Stafon should start if healthy. McKnight should also play major minutes in a support role. I hope the big Number 8 doesn't grow his grass long like the last time.
It would be sweet revenge if Desmond waited in the tunnel for the fat man and pummeled him into submission.
Don't mess with the man's right arm though. That's his turkey leg eatin' arm.

PS: Charlie Weis looks like the number 8.

...anyone whose last name isn't Washington. Hopefully, Stafon will be healthy to start and McNight gets thrown into the mix.

McKnight should return kicks/punts and as much other stuff as possible. Stafon/Washington split depending on whether we need a power runner. Depends on the O-line, if have the same group as against Nebraska, anyone could succeed. Hopefully they'll be healed.

why won't they GIVE BRADFORD A SHOT?!?! Pete keeps talking about how solid he is in practice, then at least give him the opportunity to get out there and show if he's got it in the game.

A little bit of Chauncey mixed with a lot of Stafon. I realize the O line is ridiculously banged up, but I still have not been impressed with Chauncey, sadly. Where is all that supposed new speed he found after dropping some lbs? He doesn't look any better this year than he did last year. While the guy is a beast, gives great effort and blocks well, he is not so great at creating something out of nothing (which apparently we need badly these days). We need a good all around back with some more speed to hit gaps before they close, which looks like Stafon. Have Rojo return kickoffs, McKnight return punts, and get McKnight in on some more delays and misdirections. He can handle it. As to Bradford...he has shown me basically nothing in the limited time he has appeared in games. I am willing to cut the guy a lot of slack, but he looks like a power back without enough power right now.

Washington's lack of speed and running style create problems for him.

Defenders realize Washington's not fast enough to do damage on the outside, so they jam the inside lanes on likely running plays. When they guess wrong, Washington makes some yardage, otherwise, not much.

When Washington runs short yardage plays, he doesn't often project the necessary forward body lean, which makes him easier to stop.

If Pete doesnt want to give bradford a shot, at least use hime as a decoy.

cw will start...hey. he had an awesome run for the 1st td.

anyway, it doesn't matter as long as stafon gets his carries

BEAT THE CHEESE!!! D-Reed needs to put some Xlax in Charlie's cheeseburger before the game. Stafon, Jo-Mac, and Chauncey will/should all play and make a nice mix to change things up against the already confused ND D. If we come somewhat healthy, focused, and sharper offensively we should have this game in the bag by the end of the 3rd Qtr. Cheeseburger Charlie doesnt have much of an offensive machine like he had in the past.

LOL. He does though I never thought about it.
Anyways, CW will start because of seniority. SJ, depending on how well he has healed will get more yards on less carries and Joe will become our primary punt returner and will be used more in the offense, or so we are promised each week. Joe had a great game on Sat and I hope to see more....What a great picture on the front of the LA Times sports section on Sun of McKnight.
