In case you missed it, here's yesterday's appearance on the Petros-Money show, where Money objects to my opening comment about wearing knee pads when he interviews Kobe Bryant.

Yeah, Scott you knew the problems all along. That's why you put USC #1 in your preseason rankings. Let me sum up your basic commentating philosophy: Point out every flaw in USC and wait for them to lose or even come close to losing and claim brilliance. Since no major program went undefeated last year, I would say you have a pretty good shot at looking smart with that tactic.

Scott, normally I don't pile on, but you are going a bit overboard here. Like everyone else, I was disgusted with the game at the Coliseum last Saturday - the coaching, the effort, the lack of leadership ... but I would suggest you pull up and take a look at the bigger picture: If USC beats Arizona this weekend convincingly, the sting of the debacle against Stanford will ease slightly. Who knows, this could be the wakeup call the Trojans need. However, if things continue to spiral out of control and USC winds up with 3-4 losses as you have suggested, then your piling on would be warranted at that point. But to be fair, let's see what happens over the course of the next couple of weeks first, OK? Things can change quickly in college football, and they always do. Pete's not going to let mediocrity suddenly set in. College is where kids grow up, and this bunch of Trojans is no different. Mark my words.
