Another Bellotti thought. When he had Tedford as OC, he looks like a great coach. With Crowton, not so much. Along comes Chip Kelly and all of a sudden he's the man again.

Once agin Bill has shown the rest of us how valuable a UCLA education really is. Speaking of being .500, genius boy Dorrell had better hope to be .500 after this season. On the bright side, UCLA being .500 would spare the rest of the Pac-10 the embarrassment of another half-ass performance in another half-ass bowl game. Bill, one more thing, both my maid and gardner went to UCLA.

We are about 1 notch under ND now...#117 or something...shudder to think what would happen if we actually go to the Fiesta bowl against Oklahoma...

Oregon has all the things necessary for a successful run - senior QB, easy schedule (by that I mean, all tough games at home - Cal, USC, ASU), no significant injuries (WR injuries aren't as significant as losing Stewart or Dixon or key defensive players).

On the flip side, USC has only a few - senior QB (hurt), all tough games away and significant injuries across the board (Rachal, Pinkard, Cushing, etc.). Im kinda surprised USC is doing as well as it is.

66, save it. I think you've spent too much time around those domers in the midwest. A bad season for SC is 2nd or 3rd in the Pac 10...a bad season for ND is 1-11. Anyhow, I know you're a bandwagoner anyways and will be here singing SC's praises after a W this weekend. See you then!

Under McKay we won a National Title in 1962. In 1967 (the year after the humiliation of the 51-0 Notre Dame debacle) we won another National Championship. There would be two more MNCs, including 1972 which featured the grandest team we ever fielded. Along the way there were eight Rose Bowls, yet we only won four of them.
The McKay era remains the Golden Age of Trojan Football, but there were many reversals along the way. Our prospects are most favorable.

Stop whining fellow Trojans. They just beat us with both of their starting WR's out, several of their Oline with injuries, several Dline and defensive backs injured. Across the board Oregon is a far younger team. And their first string recruits wouldn't be projected as third string at SC. They beat us plain and simple. Belloti is a FAR better coach. So they get to enjoy it. Let's just deal. PC and staff are getting out-coached. No one likes it, Garrett wanted Bellotti , we had Chow, Ogeron and Walkerbut we lost them and PC and Sark are Hackettesque. But they still went/ got to Oregon! LOL

Seems like great coaching brings out the best in average players, and mediocre coaching brings out the worst in 5-star players. Over the past 5 years we have had great coaching, some great players, but, reminding ourselves that Carson Palmer had a so-so beginning, it took great coaching to help him reach his potential. Need to overhaul the coaching staff.

And, it's kinda clear why Bellotti might have been a bit "inward" with his smile coming into the 2007 season.

Thank you Trojangles for taking the words (scores) right out of my mouth. There is a very simple explanation for Oregon getting picked to finish 6th in the conference that the results of last year's games are why.

In response to "Belloti is a FAR better coach." from Timmay. Come on dude. Stop hitting the pipe and start hitting the books. Pete's teams don't always win (especially not recently) but the NEVER lay down and die like Bellotti's teams. DId you see those scores from last year??? I mean, what really separates Bellotti from Dorrell when his team starts to slide? Nothing in my opinion. Getting lambasted by BYU was shocking, humiliating, and a black eye to an otherwise very nice post season for the Pac-10. (aside from the original Dorrell who got spanked in the second half against the previously offensively anemic FSU) Mike Bellotti lost by more cumulative points in the month of November than Pete has in his ENTIRE CAREER. Think about that for a minute.

Now I'm not happy about losing by 2 or 3 or any number of points, but at least SC fights hard until the end. The day the Trojans just give up on the football field and let the opposition run all over them is the day you can count me out as a fan, but until then, Bellotti is not in the same ballpark as Pete, he's not in the same league, he's not even in the same F'ing sport! (well, he kinda is in the same league and sport "literally", but I wanted to use Vincent Vega's line)
