Rough Weekend

Idaho, Nebraska, Washington State, Washington, and Stanford all lost yesterday. Those are the teams USC played this season besides 2-5 Arizona. It's one reason USC is 35th in the Sagarin rankings, which are one of the computer polls used by the BCS.
Jerry Palm estimates USC will be between 13th-14th when today's BCS rankings are released.

Gosh, being ranked so low, even behind one-loss teams, means that even if SC wins out the team will not play in the national championship game. I feel as if all the air has been let out of my personal Trojan balloon.

This 5-year run has left me so spoiled that even a possible Rose Bowl game leaves me feeling disappointed. I guess it is time for me to take up a new hobby.

victories over cal, oregon and asu would surely put us up near the top.

at least we won

One positive from years past is Pete Carroll lead Trojans get stronger as the season goes on!

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
