Sounds Familiar

We wrote last week linebacker Brian Cushing would probably be sidelined until the Notre Dame game. Here's what Cushing said today about the bone bruise in his ankle.
``I’m probably not going to play but absolutely, I’ll be ready for Notre Dame,'' he said.

But Bri said it was a 3-day injury.

cool I want everyone to be healthy so we can put the biggest possible beat-down on those arrogant jerks from south bend

Predicting when an ankle or knee injury will heal is an inexact science, or as the joke goes, it is a little like telling God your plans for the future-- forgeddaboutit!-- And these macho, courageous athletes cannot be trusted with their own health.

Cush, save yourself for Oregon, and then later Cal, and probably Arizona State, not ND. Those venues are where the real fighting will take place.

I agree with LJ.

It's understandably Cush's last shot to play in South Bend, but he's needed tons more for those huge PAC 10 road games on the horizon.

Do you want to play Notre Dame in '07 or LSU in January '08?

As others noted previously, Cushing should have been kept out of the Wash. St. game to give his ankle proper time to heal. This was an injury that could (and did) get worse by playing. What a shame....
