The Savior, Part II
Is there something ironic about the fact everyone is holding their breath, including the coaches, that tailback Stafon Johnson comes back from his bruise foot and helps rescue the program?
``I don't look at it that way,'' Johnson said. ``Other people might be but I haven't thought about it.''

Man, Moody looks like an idiot now. Coulda be a CONTENDA, coulda been SOMEBODY!
Now he can have fun in the shadow of Tebow.
Why is it ironic, because he had an attitude problem last year and the coaches did not play him? The kid was a phenom the year before in high school, and he has looked like our best back this year. So it should not strike anyone as a surprise that SC needs Johnson-- badly.
Thank you Lawyer John for your clarity. Unfortunately with Scott Wolf as our writer, he will find always find a way to be critical of what may be one of the greatest coaches every. Imagine if he were UCLA's beat writer!
Smart kid not to let Rickles...I mean Wolf bait him into saying something that would get him put back into the doghouse.
Throwing the kid under a truck to get a story. Shame on you Wolf.
Maybe Pete should have treated Stafon like Dr. Tom did Lawrence Phillips at UN or Tressle did Clarett at tOSU. Instead of letting Stafon get away with the behavior, PC practiced tough love and now has a bonafide character guy and amazing tailback.
With due respect to Stafon, who has been the most impressive back this season, the saviors are Kris O'Dowd and Chilo Rachal.
With them, USC averaged more than 200 yards rushing per game and 5 yards a carry. Without them, the running game doesn't carry the day; only this year, Booty has to make plays without two of the best receivers in school history.
