Tailback Stafon Johnson said he is about 75-85 percent recovered from his bruised foot and would like to be around 95 percent before he plays. He said he is starting to believe he will play against Arizona.

I'm notorious for being sarcastic but this is the edge-of-the-cliff time.

Stafon, Fred & Sedrick are great, but these guys need to watch the movie "300" before a game to get them ready for carnage. It's all mental. Look at Turner. The talent is there. Adjust the mindset.

Booty! Any idea why God let your middle finger get broken? So you can use it on your critics. Stick it up in the air at them. It's time to get pissed-off, no more smiles, no more nightclubs. Work on sprints & pivots out of the pocket. I'm the only guy on this blog who still believes in you besides your parents. Shock the world buddy.

In the meantime Sanchez gets my support too simply because I want the team to succeed. He's mobile and has untapped potential -- if the coaches can utilize it. The rest of the team will play even better as underdogs.

Then the epiphany will hit. Anyone can win, anytime, anywhere.

Even SC.

Great Post David,
I will back whoever, PC starts, I think a healthy JDB or Sanchez can get it done, we Trojans just need to support our team and Fight ON!

Hey, there's always next year. Hopefully, better QB play, more experienced WRs and RBs AND a much more friendly schedule.

I can only hope we screw up the rest of the year for Oregon, ASU, and of course, Cal.

I don't believe we can beat Oregon and Cal without Johnson. I would hope the coaches would hold him out of Arizona and ND and let that foot heal properly. These football players play through pain that would place most mortals in a hospital.

The problem is that coaches need to win, and their jobs are riding on the backs of 18-21 year olds. They push these kids to play hurt. And the kids push themselves. But if reason prevailed, only play when the chances of reinjury are slim.

David, I'm with you. Also, I'm of the belief that there's a reason Sanchez hasn't gotten game time yet because he just hasn't been that impressive. I don't understand why so many people are so crazy about him. That being said, if he starts, he deserves the support of every fan because he's our leader. Go Trojans, whoever might be at QB on Saturday.

So we lost our 1st home game at the Coliseum since 2001 to FREAKING STANFORD (a 41 point underdog)…and USC was finally exposed as an overrated team with too many key injuries and too many guys that have simply not lived up to their hype and/or potential. Well you can whine about it all week or trust Carroll to light a fire under this team…I am going with the latter.

Stafon Johnson’s injury, coupled with CJ being out for the year, really hurt us against Stanford. Despite a leaner looking and more focused Washington (I gave him the benefit of the doubt during the preseason)…Washington is just never going to be that every down, starting running back for USC that he was supposed to be. I would love to see Stafon play against Zona, but I hope he will be 95%-100% healthy before USC brings him back because we are REALLY going to need him (especially with CJ out for the rest of the season). At CAL, at Oregon, and at ASU look very daunting right now.

And with an injured Booty seemingly regressing this season, and not playing at the same level as last year’s Rose Bowl, I am with David, CI, and any real Trojan, and am 100% in support of Sanchez. While I still see Mustain as the future QB…this is 2007…and I support whoever walks out on the field for USC. DP has been telling everyone all summer how good Sanchez is, so let’s sit back and see if this 5 Star QB recruit can turn the season around for USC.

PS – For all of the A-hole, bandwagon fans in the closed end zone that started to boo the USC team as they walked off the field at halftime, stop acting like classless Oklahoma fans, and save your boos for the opposing team…or stay home this Saturday and give your tickets to real Trojan fans that would love to go to the Coliseum and support USC.

I know I've had squabbles with many Trojan fans on this board in the Mustain vs. Sanchez debate, but I'm glad (and a bit surprised) to see most everyone climb onboard the Sanchez train since it looks like it will be leaving the station on Saturday.
I know he's not your first choice for starting QB (maybe not even second or third), but it is refreshing to see you guys at least support him now that he'll be carrying the SC torch for a bit.
Hopefully, when all is said and done, we can all be on the same page when Aaron Corp is starting at QB and leading the Trojans VY style.
