Where's The Fire?
Tuesday usually features the largest crowd of spectators but there might be 50 watching practice today.
Do two losses really kill people's interest that fast?

About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Maybe it's all the negativity from people like you, Scott. All that trash talk laced though your articles and exposed through your blog have turned people off.
Congrats! You can count yourself as one who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
I wouldn't watch that I am not watching the game on saturday either..my stomach can't take anymore
Come on Scott, now you're trashing USC because of the number of spectators at practice? I sure wouldn't want you on my team if the going got tough. Looks like you'd turn and run.
I once heard a guy talking in an airport terminal in Chicago a few years back about Los Angeles: "In L.A. you are either in the movie industry, or you are a nobody." I guess if you have two losses in football you are categorized as a "nobody."
It seems like ESPN is more positive about USC's BCS chances than the Trojans fans:
Bowl projections 10/30:
Ivan Maisel has USC playing WV in a non-traditional Rose Bowl
(Oregon vs. tOSU in CG)
Mark Schlabach has USC playing OU in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
What are they thinking?
I would take either of those scenarios...
Once again Wolfster, scraping beneath the bottom of the barrel for material.... disappointing, although I am starting to get very used to it.
Wolf is so predictable. People are disappointed sure but more importantly, the media doesn't cover the #20 team in the nation, no matter how conveniently located. Also USC lost to Stanford as well as Oregon and it also lost twice last year as well to crappy teams. Moreover, there are a lot of hardcore USC fans who feel the coach is doing his own thing- so they aren't unhappy w players. So as much as alum and diehard fans will keep supporting the team don't expect the media to pitch a tent to see a team who isn't even at the top of their conference.

USC1966? More like USC 2006. You're the biggest fairweather fan I've ever seen. If you can't watch a 2 loss USC team don't bother watching at all. You won't be missed. You left in the 90's leave now and spare us the trouble.
Note to the Daily News: I read this blog because it says Inside USC, I don't care if it says Scott Wolf or Joe Blow. I like information on my favorite team. I am not that into whiny reporters.
Tyler, there is no way USC1966 is a bigger fair weather fan than my Dad. He turned the Oregon game off after Oregon was up 24-10.
Hey Scott,
The fire is down the hall in the Daily News sales department where your boss' customers are burning their copies of the garbage that you've writing.
Or maybe the fire is over in circulation department where they are burning the customer subscriptions to the charade of a publication and "informed opining" you've been mis-representing as under the cover of legitimately objective sports journalism.
Face it, you're a devisive hack at best.
Hope you have the same smug look on your face when the circulation people stop by to tell your editor to fire you *ss because the advertisers in LA they have traditionally relied on are slamming doors in their face and won't give them the time of day.
...but I'm sure that you've figured out that the Google AdSense revenue generated as a result of the increased hits you get on this blog for stirring the sh** pot...will more than cover the un-employment shortfall.
Laugh on Brutus!!!
3 Days and Counting until Judgment Day!
Lack of Institutional Control On!
Caesar finally chased all the agents and runners away, which drastically reduced the crowd. Sorry, too little, too late!
Extra Benefits On!
Bill,
Douche on.
If USC football becomes irrelevant, do you too ?
....a silver lining at last
Scott,
USC football become irrelevant? But of course our very own Scott Wolf would surely save us from such a fate with his vast football expertise. Scott seems to know just a little more than P Carroll and his staff about such diverse topics as clock management, how many carries Stefon Johnson should get even with his foot injuries, how many carries J McKnight should have received from game one even with his propensity for coughing up the ball and his limited knowledge of the playbook. If only P Carroll would swallow his pride and consult with Scott Wolf more often about game planning etc, this season could have turned out so much differently !

"Where's the Fire?"
Interesting title of a post just days after one of worst series of fires in southern California history. I'd like to think it was an unintentional slip-up but more likely it was an unintelligent slip-up.
Either way, Wolf strikes me as a super tool – a tool to end all tools.
Let's face it, there are a TON of bandwagon hoppers since the Leinart/Bush days. Everyone wanted to be a fan of the best team in the nation for essentially five years running. The true fans stick around to watch their favorite team (but maybe not the best teama around always). I'll be glad to see more true fans in the stands than fair weather fans who sit in the seats and are not true to the team.
