UCLA quarterback Ben Olson contacted USC when he transferred from BYU and then-offensive coordinator Norm Chow recommended taking him but the Trojans eventually decided against it.

Olson's a stiff.
What's the point of this post? Does any Trojan fan think that PC made the wrong choice in turning him down?
Olson would be 5th string if he were at USC today, behind Booty, Sanchez, Mustain and Corp. By the way, watch out for Corp - he is extremely talented, and nobody ever talks about him. Above-average arm, smart kid, and can run like the wind.
Thanks Ex-Sportswriter, but my wife does not agree with you.

I'm not so sure that Olson would have been a scrub at USC. He was a huge recruit coming out of high school and he is probably the best QB prospect at UCLA in a long. At USC he would have had the benefit of decent coaching, so it's not really fair to place UCLA Olson at the bottom of USC's depth chart without considering that he has played in a couple unfortunate (and boring) offensive systems. He probably would have held his own with the help of Norm Chow and Steve Sarkisian.
Something to consider, anyhow.

The guy is awful so we made the right call. He was all world coming out of high school, just like Patrick Turner.
Lawyer John, I totally understand. I know the feeling - according to my wife, I haven't been right about anything since I said "I do." She would make a great attorney, since she never loses a case in our house!
Captain Awesome: Nobody at USC gives a rat's a-- about Olson or any other UCLA player. They are now and forever gutless little bruins, so they get what they deserve.

Who was Olson going to beat out?-- Leinart, no; Booty, no; next year, Sanchez, Mustain or Corp, probably not.
So I guess it was good that the team did not listen to Chow.
Lawyer John is always right.

Now, beat the Bruins!
