With LSU losing, the BCS will have a record third No. 1 team this season after the weekend. There's already been a record five No. 2 teams in the BCS polls this season, with No. 2 Kansas still to play.

Just had a cool thought....LSU will still play in the SEC championship game, and likely win if they play Tennessee. A hot Georgia team would be very, very dangerous, however, but assuming they win the SEC championship, they will still be ranked around #5. I know that we are supposed to want to go to the Rose Bowl, but Tempe/Scottsdale really is a much nicer place to visit. What IF Oregon finds a way to win these last two, we beat UCLA and end at about #7, AND the Fiesta Bowl puts together a dream match-up of Pac-10 co-champ SC against SEC champ LSU?!?!?! What a game that would be and it would clearly overshadow this KU/Mizzou/West Va Sugar Bowl that we are facing? Just pondering how cool it would be to still get a shot at LSU and that sorry SOB Les Miles in a BCS bowl. Oh well, the Ducks will probably quack on Sat w/out their main man, and an OSU Rose Bowl will still be sweet.

DFWTrojan,
Nice thought, however, the powers aint going to let USC play one of their top SEC teams in a bowl. They need to keep the SEC myth alive, although its becoming very fragile. They could have hooked us up with an SEC match in 2003. LSU had its hands full with AZ ST in 2005, has been limping in with wins all year long. And now they lose to a team that we have hung up over 120 pts in two games.

Yeah, Jay#42, it is amazing that no one seems to want to remember how we buried the arkies twice in the past years, and DMF did minimal damage. And of course before that, destroyed Auburn twice and Va Tech as well. Not like we beat the pattycakes!
Next season, bring on toOSU and Virginia and the Weis family singers in non-conference games.
In the meantime, lets get the toOSU come January.

IF SC is at large and LSU wins the SEC they could meet in the Sugar Bowl a week before the NC game.

Bruce, while that game sounds like a real winner, if SC is an at large team, then the Fiesta which picks before the Sugar would probably choose us against the Big 12 instead, but the way this season's going....

I am in the ATL. Looking forward to some short trips to VA and The OSU in 2008. Meanwhile I will continue to endure this SEC and ACC BS 24/7 until I can get out dodge Friday and watch us right a pesky little issue left over from last year...FUCLA

Fight ON!

Ooops, my bad, the SEC champ will go to the Sugar. I had a momentary lapse of reason forgetting that the BCS is a separate game in the SuperDome 3 days after the Sugar Bowl. Could there possibly be a stupider system? Who in the heck is going to believe that Mizzu/West Va is the real championship game? Why, oh why can't we have a playoff system incorporating the bowls? No doubt that an OSU/USC game would be the headliner of bowl season.

If I could follow the money trail, I would be able to give you an answer.

To Jay#42, toOSU comes to the Coliseum in 2008, and we go there in 2009. We open in Charlottesville, though!!!
