The passing game suffered from dropped passes, unless you were wide receiver Vidal Hazelton.
``I have no clue,’’ Hazelton said. ``I just know when the ball came to me, I did my thing.’’
But Pete Carroll also attributed the problems to quarterback John David Booty.
``Some of his passes were high,’’ Carroll said. ``I need to figure if it’s because he just came back or something else.''

Several of the drops were right on the money. Dropped passes, as well penalties continue to plague the Trojans. Why cant we seem to make progress on these fronts? (Sure, penalties were better this week, hopefully they will continue to improve).

Uuuh, Vidal, maybe you were quoted out of context, but this reminds me of a favorite line: "I got mine, sorry about the rest of the country."

Scott,

I would like to know John Morton's impression of Kiffin's coaching of the wide receivers. I found your comment on Holland interesting. Morton originally commented that the WRs looked like NFL size receivers when he arrived. Obviously, looks can be deceiving.

What does somebody being a jerk has to do with Hazelton blooming into a great receiver? If the shoe fits you you're guilty!
Let's leave the damn egos out, shall we?

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
