Arizona State quarterback Rudy Carpenter and USC defensive end Lawrence Jackson exchanged words during the coin toss and after Jackson's third sack gave Carpenter a bloody lip.
``I actually didn't hear what he was saying but I heard a couple curse words,'' Jackson said of the post-sack exchange. ``He's a feisty guy. We were having a few words at the coin toss. I just let him know we were going to come after him. I didn't think he liked when he had the blood on his lip. He had some not-so-nice things to say.''

I babysit a deaf dog, so I have become an expert lip reader. Here are the words exchanged after the bloody lip sack.

Carpenter: ^%$# *&^&^ %$^ %$#$ ((()&&^

LoJack: Meow. Mr. Bird, eventually, a cat like me will catch you. Have you ever taken a philosophy class?

Carpenter: &^^%^% ^&%^ %$ ((*&& %^%$!!! And your Mother. &^% %$# (*&

LoJack: I'm sorry to hear that. Would you like to join me for a friendly game of tennis after the season?
