Going For The Gold?

Cal wore its alternate gold jerseys when it broke its three-game losing streak against Washington State. The Bears are 5-0 in their gold kit (Oregon, UCLA, Texas A&M in 2006; Tennessee and Washington State this season).
Will they break out the gold jerseys this week?

I hope not...I just got an HDTV and I think they may blind me!

On another note, why is a 8-1Oregon team ranked ahead of a 9-0 Kansas team? Kansas has crushed people this year (like Nebraska 76-39). I guess if they get past Missouri they should go to the big dance, IMHO.

Don't forget their likely matchup with Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. If they win out, they definitely have a case.

If Kansas is 13-0 with wins over Missouri and OU (Big 12 CG) they belong in the BCS CG over any of the one loss teams. We are not talking about a BYU, Utah, Boise, or Hawaii here...

It's not even a stretch. KU is #4 now and would have beaten a #5 and #6 enroute to the unblemished record. Ohio State is more suspect than the Jayhawks.

I guess the problem lies with perception-- you hear 'Kansas,' and you think basketball, not football.

Hard to say if Kansas is for real at this point, as their best victories are over K-State and Colorado. We'll find out soon if they are.

Yes, living in Big-12 country, Kansas has gotten better and gained confidence throughout the year. Great story for a perennial sucky team! However, it remains HIGHLY unlikely that they will make it through the season unscathed. Not suprisingly, at least 2/3 of the teams ranked above SC will lose yet again this season. Which means, albeit unlikely, that if SC wins out, we will almost certainly be in a BCS bowl game. A summary of high ranked teams with very dangerous games are:

- Ohio St at Mich
- LSU: Ark and prob GA
- OU: OK ST, Kansas
- Kansas: Ok St, Mizzu, OU
- W Va: Cinci, Uconn
- Mizzu: K St, Kansas
- BC: Miami, Clemson

Prediction, Ohio St and LSU lose again. Kansas drops 2 of 3. OU and UO win out and play in the BCS/Sugar Bowl...Cool rematch. USC plays Ohio St in the Rose Bowl after running the table with a 10 point win at ASU and 17 point win at Cal. Orange Bowl is Ga and W Va. Fiesta is Mizzu and LSU. Strange days ahead my friends, but you are seriously putting your ass on the line if you bet against the USC Def for the rest of the year. They are playing Ray Lewis/Ravens good enough to carry a team on their shoulders.

I agree with you guys if KU takes a loss to Missouri or loses in the B12 CG. Then they become the next South Florida or BC. LSU and Oregon Fan will both be sweating out that probable OU Tilt if the Jayhawks show up 12-0.

Rock Chalk!

Back to the topic, doesn't matter what Cal wears -- as long as there's red all over MeShauwn's jersey at the end of the game (or 1st quarter, for that matter).

Red as in helmet marks, that is. We would NEVER wish any physical harm to a Cal player, right?

Kansas's problem in getting to the top two is its very weak non-conference schedule:

Central Michigan W 52-7

Southeastern Louisiana W 62-0

Toledo W 45-13

Florida International W 55-3

I guess St. Mary's School for the Blind was busy.

However, if they can beat Missouri and Oklahoma, then they should go ahead of any one-loss team.
