Heisman Candidate?

Cal wide receiver DeSean Jackson is not leading the Bears in receptions, trailing LaVelle Hawkins in catches, 53-51. Jackson had five catches for 45 yards and two reverses for 21 against Washington State and was five for 88 in the Arizona State game.
``We get it to him when it fits what's going on,'' Cal coach Jeff Tedford said.

I'd still take him on our team.
It'd be nice to mix in a deep threat with all of our possession receivers. I mean, how many 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 receivers with 4.6 speed can you have on a roster? Although Rojo does show promise. He consistently gets behind the DBs. If only JDB could learn the art of putting air under the ball instead of throwing lasers that cannot be caught up to. Maybe Sanchez or Mustain will fix that problemo next year.

LOL, did he not fit into your offense in any of those three games you lost in October Teddy???
DeSean, good luck getting sleep this week, Kevin Ellison is watching you...

Good job sureshot. Way to take a post on DeSean Jackson and make it a rip on JDB.

No worries. These posts are like Play Dough, I can mold them into whatever suits my purpose. For instance:

A post on the wildfires? – JDB didn't do enough for Katrina victims.

A post about Gilipo's back? – JDB sucker punched him over a "stolen Pop Tart"

A post about Santa Claus? – JDB made Cole Leinart cry when he stole his Christmas present.

Just kidding. Obviously I think Sanchez is better, but it's not that I don't like JDB. I just don't think he's the best we've got. And since he has trouble putting touch on the deep ball, (I'm not sure who can dispute that) that criticism is relevant when talking about DeSean Jackson (a threat to go deep on every play).
Besides, my main criticism was the stockpiling of big but no-so-fast possession receivers and the absence of a DeSean Jackson type. My "rip" on JDB constituted only approximately 12-17% of my post.

Good day sir.

sureshot, I agree. I'm pretty confident that the recruiting for offense this year will focus on more O-lineman and lightning fast WRs, since we have plenty of QBs, RBs and possession WRs. But its not like Pete doesn't know about this issue - sometimes guys like DeSean choose to go elsewhere despite our coaches' best efforts.
