Learn Anything?

After last year's nine-point performance against UCLA, has USC learned much the past year?
``By Year 2, you start seeing tendencies you don't notice as much the first year,'' offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian said of the Bruins' defense.
We hear USC coach Pete Carroll's been a little edgier than usual this week with the Trojans, mindful of the coaching matchup. Earlier, this week, we wrote in the Daily News how he told the team Sunday he could personally matchup with the UCLA coaches.

Dear Santa,

I want to crush FUCLA. Seriously, beat them by 100. FUCLA gives up when they know they can't win – so take an early lead and keep your feet on the accelerator!

I want to see bRUIN fans cry. Women? Children? It doesn't matter. They called down the thunder... well here it is!!!

I want Tyler, 13-9 and 100 Titles to be so ashamed that they curl up behind the nearest rock and sob until they pass out.

I want PC to do his best Cobra Kai impression and yell "FINISH HIM!" as Rey Maualuga knocks whatever FUCLA qb is left on the field, unconscious.

This is all I ask for this Christmas.

Thanks, Sureshot

Sorry Tyler, I lumped you into that group with FUCLA.

I meant Bill and ReelBruin. Those are the guys I want crying into their pillows after devastation that SC will unleash. My bad.

While I love the reference to The Karate Kid (which seems to be playing on some cable/satellite channel at any given time), is it really appropriate?

After all, in The Karate Kid, the underdog wins (but ultimately loses the girl, go figure).

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
