Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

So who was this mystery player that talked about the offensive gameplan being on sale for $9.95?
My best guess would be Vidal Hazelton. Or perhaps one of the Johnson twins (Ronald or Stafon) Usually, comments like this are made by a WR (the unabashed prima donnas of football) and Patrick Turner and David Ausberry don't seem as likely to say something like this. Hazelton strikes me as much more flamboyant and cocky (a good thing for a WR) than the rest of the group with the possible exception of Rojo. But since Stafon only got 3 carries and has certainly not been shy of expressing his opinions in the past, it could be him as well. I'd be shocked if that quote came from one of the linemen or any of the other tailbacks.
Not that the quote was all that bad, or a big deal anyway, but I always liked playing the board game Clue when I was a child, so this kind of guessing game is fun for me.
Any other guesses on who might have said it?

For the record, I think $9.95 is far too high of a price for a three play game plan.
#1- Bubble screen to the right.
#2- Dive up the middle.
#3- Bubble screen to the left.
Nobody plays "sideline to sideline" like Steve Sarkisian.
I wonder what Sark would have done if Norm Chow would have called these plays for him while he was quarterbacking BYU?

I wish I could go back and find the archived emails from USC fans on other websites complaining about Chow's play calling in the 2002 season. My recollection is complaints about running the same bubble screen plays over and over and not throwing to the tight end...sound familiar?

I wouldn't buy that crappy play book if you gave me a $9.95 rebate.

I love the complaining about the bubble screen. Don't any of you (my apologies if you are recent addition to the bandwagon and you heard from somewhere Norm Chow is a good OC) remember the constant bubbles to Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett?! The difference is, we need to be able to audible out when the corners are playing up, which they were at Oregon.

Dying to know to whom this quote was attributable? Freddie D, frustrated by low production and double teams that game? He does seem quite confident and extroverted, but his post-game quotes seemed very respectful. I just think Vidal, Stafon, Joe, and Rojo are too young to speak up. Hershel? Desmond? Freddie? Wolfie, you've got to scoop this one for us.
