The betting line is 3-4 points, so there is no "professional" consensus of SC's superiority in this game. And SC is not poised to peak in November as in years past; the team is still evolving. This game will be a thriller, a pick-em, but I would still be mildly surprised if Troy does not prevail. The Trojans do afterall have a superb defense.

Sweat predicts SC will win 38-14. Both predictions have the same amount of credability...

its gotta be really close. yep, in the 20's, so 24-23 sounds right. who's got the 24??? I dunno

34-31 in 3 OTs

;-)

USC has not covered spreads well for some time so it seems to move bias towards cal. Strange because in 2007,cal is 3-6 vs. spread and USC is 4-5. This is like turnover margin to these guys!

However, their rating system (based on top rating of zero), it rates cal @ 6 and deducts 3 pts for home field value; for a value of 3 versus USC's rating @ -2 (sort of like giving 110%). This implies USC would lay 5 pts to cal at home.

On top of all that, vegas has SC laying 4.

By the way, I NEVER beat on my team.

Anyone who bets regularly knows to ignore the line when it comes to Carroll's Trojan teams. Gold Sheet Shmold Sheet. Just check the fundamentals - Cal's dynamic O vs. SC's shutdown D. SC's sputtering O vs. Cal's crappy D. Looks like a close game.

HAHAHAHAAH\

I watched Cal last week they looked like a pack of tards

If we lose it will be our own fault

Hey 1966,

I actually got a chuckle out of that comment. I would usually be inclined to go with the crowd and say "close game," just like I was inclined early in the year and say "blow out." Well, I'm going to break with tradition, USC will win by three TDs, will get defensive TDs from the DBs, and our running game will put 200 yds on the board.

SC 42 Cal 21

1966 Your remarks sound suspiciously like PC saying the only way the team could get beat was by beating themselves. Not so. Also sounds like not giving Cal much credit. They are hungry to win, so are we. However, I get a sense that the the trojans are quickly improving, based mostly on the return of a real O-line. Booty not much of a factor I fear, however, good running backs and awesome D should give us a W.

I have been a subscriber to the Gold Sheet for several years. They have consistently proven that while they have some good tidbits they have a poor predition percentage.. By far, the worst of those types of publication.... I usually win if I go against most of their predictions.... Based on that, we will win in double digits against the "Tree Protestors". I look for our receivers (namely our # 1) to have break out games and for Stafon to have several bay area romps..... Fight On !!!!!

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
