Howard Jones the football coach that died in 1941 or Howard Jones the musician from the 80's that sung "Things Can Only Get Better."

Because if it's one of those guys it's funny, the other is cold-blooded. I'm not going to say which is which.

Does this have anything to do with the Bush investigation? Do you know something we don't know?

This is lame. How the hell can anyone suggest that Carroll should not return as coach? I won't even dignify this poll with a vote. Neither should you. Scott is just a sh*t-stirrer, pure and simple.

Yet another stupid poll from Scott. By the tone of most of his posts he really seems to be over-compensating for some real self-esteem issues.

-10 persons showed-up for the last practice. Doesn't that concern you?
-PC openly admitting NOT taking JDB in the second half of the game against Stanford? Even if a coach is wrong he would NOT admit to his/her wrong coaching decisions. Unless I am mistaken Vince Lombardi never admitted openly being wrong. That is simple leadership.
What amounts to the potential Bushgate is a ticking bomb in the making. That is brutally honest but a harsh reality that sooner than later as USC fans we must face and accept.
Thanks

Who cares how many people show up for practice. That just shows there are some bandwagoners who have left...big deal. To quote AI: "we're talking about practice...."

I was blaming the coaches for not taking Booty out once they knew his finger was broken, and for calling 3 straight pass plays, the last of which was picked by Stanford and set up the game-winning TD drive. Even Sark admitted that he should not have done that after the game. There is nothing wrong with a coach admitting that he made a mistake. Coaches are not perfect, including Lombardi. If they were, they wouldn't be coaches.

I am concerned about the Bush scenario, but in the end I think the 2004 Nat'l Championship is safe. The accusations directly involving Bush (as opposed to his folks) occurred after the Oklahoma game.

Having said all that, this poll is still garbage. There is no indication that Pete is leaving on his own. Thus, the only way he goes is if he is fired. And anyone who suggests that he should be fired, like this poll implies, is a moron.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
