Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
Comments
Come on, Scott, is this fair?-- Chow was the master, but he did not become that good overnight. I'd like to give Sark some more time, and the reality is he will be given more time by Carroll. So live with it.

This is quite disingeneous. People shouldn't even give this the dignity of answering because Norm was leaving anyway. Further, since he hired Norm first, wouldn't it make it obvious who Pete Carroll wanted?

Scott, it's been three years, man. I don't see Norm knockin on any doors... he doesn't come to practice. Last I saw him he looked okay, probably from running his own show and cashing all those fat checks. If he does move somewhere, would he come back here?
Face it, Scott, Norm Chow just ain't comin back, man. Get over it. Just let it go. Move on to the next chapter of your life.
Just keep on keeping on. Keep writing all those cheery, upbeat reports that we all enjoy so much. Come on man, the pessimists and negative thinkers of the world are counting on you!

The real question is does Coach Carroll feel a need to add a real OC to next years staff or continue to "develop" the one we have?

NORCAL4SOCAL states:
"The real question is does Coach Carroll feel a need to add a real OC to next years staff or continue to "develop" the one we have?"
First things first; on Saturday, why was SC shut out in the second half? Was it the players or the Play Callers?
If this team continues to play as they have, then Mike Garrett has to start asking the HARD questions of PC. Enough postulating on both sides, Garrett needs to get to the root cause and get this program refocused. It may in fact take some HARD questions of the coaching staff, to do that.

What an absurdly stupid poll. It doesn't surprise me one bit that it's on Scott's blog.
You have to sift through tons of B.S. just to get to any relevant information (and to Scott's credit, occasionally there is some).

Scott is like the 14 year old kid on a freeway overpass, throwing coins down at the passing cars. The man is inpenetrable and he is consistent-- look at his silly AP poll picks every week. He refers to himself as a scourge for a good reason.

The first sentence of my post. It ask a hard question. The rest of the post I can't take credit for. Something happened to add someone eles thoughts on my entry to a odd poll. My comment on "first things first;" It was the play calling, didn't develop an offensive flow, against a soft defense. On the latter part of my post, I feel Mike Garrett should stick with Coach's plan, no reason to second guess, that's Carroll's job, which he's done well in the past... Just my opinion to the person who got stick on my post.

Scott,
This poll might be it for me on this blog. I'm convinced now that something is mentally off with you.
Who posts a poll where they honestly compare an OC with 30 years experience to 2 guys with maybe 5 years experience collectively? I have a couple more polls for you to use in the coming weeks. Since apparently stupid polls is now your "thing".
Who's knows more about the theory of relativity:
a. Scott Wolf
b. Me
c. Albert Einstein
Who would you consider to be the best driver:
a. Pete Carroll
b. Norm Chow
c. Al Unser Jr.
The thing is you're not even funny or clever. You're wasting your time and opportunity. Either start "reporting" or let someone else have the job. You know, someone who will actually report facts instead of just making up ludicrous polls.
Seriously for every one nugget of truth I get off this site I have to eat about 4 buckets of pure shite...

Is he deliberately rubbing it in with his readers or is this his way of showing up PC for what was admittedly a childish comment about asking for Tedford before hiring Chow when it is on record that he hired Chow in his first day? If he disagrees with PC and the Chow thing fine, but don't kick the fans to do it! If anything, a Norcal4socal pointed out, Garrett should have stopped this childish thing and insider hiring from getting out of hand. Did Garrett let PC implode so he could re-establish his authority. Garrett sure did seem to be deliberately embarrassing PC with suspending Vincent Joseph himself when obviously PC wasn't. (I'm surprised at PC letting that go.) Maybe I'm not being fair but it just seems like Garrett is trying a little belatedly to get PC back in comPETE mode and get the players back in line.

It won't matter who the OC or head coach will be because Pete Carroll is going to be gone and no one will touch that job after the NCAA gets done with USC for the Reggie Bush violations!

Gosh, Bill, we had not heard from you in a while, we were worried about you. I see you posted your usual anti-SC comment after everybody had gone to bed, except you and me, so I guess we are the only ones who get to enjoy it.
Let me see, for an intelligent guy you seem to be stuck on basically the same wording and text message-- NCAA sanctions for Bush's impropriety will lead to Carroll's departure. Does that about sum it up, Bill?
Well, let's look at the facts. SC would have to be shown to have had actual knowledge or shown that they should have known about the Bush payments. Not likely.
What I guess will happen is that SC will be stripped of its 2005 championship (you do concede that SC won that one, right?), and Bush will be stripped of his Heisman.
Big deal. That is history. Most people deal with the present with an eye on the future.
Sorry to see you are such a hater, Bill. SC-UCLA animosity goes back before you were born, but most people are pretty good-natured about it. Where do you stand, Bill?
