Sack Time

| | Comments (3) |

Arizona State quarterback Rudy Carpenter was sacked six times tonight, which is not surprising because the Sun Devils allowed the most sacks in the Pac-10.
``They came to hit tonight, that is the one thing they do,’’ Carpenter said. ``They hit me and they hit me good.’’

Rudy is a punk. He didn't face a defense like that all season. Sed Ellis getting that penalty called on him was worthless. It looked like the refs were looking for breaks for ASU

The way the refs called that game it does make ya wonder if by chance the Pac 10 knew that ASU was the only remaining conference team that had a chance to play in the NC game.. and that they wanted to give ASU every opportunity to remain in that position. Sounds absurd but the crazy money and benefits a conference gains by getting a team to play in that single game are pretty good reasons to make my point. The refs for that game even hated to call JDBs sneak at the end of the 1st half a TD even though he was sitting a good 5 feet past the goal line. Carpenters throwing his helmet in anger drew no flag yet Ced gets his for far far less? the delay penalty on a kickoff? The non call of a block in the back on Rudy Birch's KO return...The entire game had me sitting paranoid that anything positive that we did would draw an overturning flag. I guess when you dawn the Cardinal and Gold..you also pin a target onto your back

Rudy, how about a nice, big turf sandwich served up by Mr. LoJack! I was at the game sitting right in the middle of the Sun Devil Club and watching Rudy take a beating by my boys was quite the Thanksgiving treat. I did admire his spunk though, as most QBs would not have made it to the end of that game. We need a good nickname Sed and Lo. Fight on!
