The biggest hole next season on the defense (team?) will be nose guard, as USC tries to replace Pac-10 defensive player of the year Sedrick Ellis.
But USC coach Pete Carroll believes the Trojans might alternate a trio of Averill Spicer, DaJohn Harris and Christian Tupou instead of relying on one player next season. Tupou is currently undersized (262 pounds) but Carroll said his strength makes him a factor.
