Carroll On Neuheisel

Here's USC coach Pete Carroll on UCLA hiring Rick Neuheisel.
``We were waiting for the smoke to come out of the Vatican and it finally did,'' Carroll said. ``I think it's a terrific choice. His experience in the NFL is beneficial. They got a really good choice. He's always been a really good recruiter. He'll do a great job.''

Let's start a betting pool on how many months it takes for Neuheisel to create NCAA violations at FUCLA. Does "Rick's Wreck" occur in month 18 on the job? The biggest question is if Wolfie publishes the poll online, how long until Neu-weasel joins?

Early morning betting line (err umm) “Neighborhood Pool" will have Neu-weasel suing the NCAA, FUCLA and the PAC-10 by March, for making him wait to be hired by FUCLA and defamation of his character (I’m sorry, I just spilled my bourbon as I was typing that out).

Yesterday Wolf posted this: "Where's the critics who criticized our top 25 ranking of Texas and flatly predicted Arizona State would defeat the Longhorns in the Holiday Bowl?"

A little while later, he posted this: "Rose Bowl practices are not that compelling, but at least there was some good gossip swirling around Howard Jones Field that UCLA's chancellor will not hire Rick Neuheisel as the next coach because of his controversial past."

Dare I say 'tis you, Mr. Wolf, who should be eating a large helping of crow today?

I just realized the above post may be a little ambiguous since the two quotes are seemingly unrelated.

My point is that on one hand, Wolf goes around gloating about being right about something (about time dude) and asking for a mea culpa from the readers, and yet I seriously doubt he'll call himself on such an erroneous post.

Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
