It Always Comes Back To USC
Former USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow is being mentioned for the UCLA job. Former USC assistant DeWayne Walker is expected to interview for the vacancy. We'll let you know if Ed Orgeron or Tim Davis become a candidate.

El Capitan:
I hear you. But if Chow and Ed could put their ego's aside and become a team. FUCLA would become an instant formidable foe. An OC,and DC and one a lights out recruiter. SW is right this could come back to USC...to haunt. Awaiting how to do this....á
Chow at fucla would certainly add some edge to the rivalry. Can't see anyone offering a head coaching job to a 65+ year old man who has never been a head coach. Chow may be a great offensive coordinator, but his time has passed for a head coaching job. Walker would make some sense, but can't see fucla replacing one first-time head coach with another.
Guerrero should hire a Ben Howland-type and they can win games 6-3 or 7-6. FYI, current ESPN article has Sarkisian has one of the top 10 "intriguing" assistant coaches.
I just hope they don't get Chris Peterson out of Boise State. I think that guy is dynamic and could win a lot of games with a decent program like FUCLA.
(Did I just say FUCLA was a decent program? What the bleep is wrong with me?)
sureshot: I'm sure it was just a typo. you meant a program in 'descent,' not a 'decent' program.
sureshot, I'll have to disagree with you and hope that FUCLA does go after Peterson. I'm not entirely sold on him being all that. Big raves were made here in the "Ville" when Steve Crap-thrope came to town and replaced "Love'm and run after the money Petrino". Crap-thorpe was given basically a silver platter, and he has now tarnished that platter (with poor coaching decision, and a lot internal strife). So bringing Peterson to FUCLA "could be" on the same as Crap-thorpe going to the "Ville". Just my worthless two cents. Fight On!
sureshot and kp, I would also mention that the Boise program that Petersen is heading was built by Dan Hawkins. Petersen is winning, that's for sure, but the job he's doing now is no indication of how well he can develop a football program, which is what he'll be expected to do at UCLA. The players he's winning with now are largely left over from Hawkins' tenure and if I'm not mistaken there was very little transition on their coaching staff. Petersen retained the offensive coordinator title (certainly to his credit) and I believe that he retained Hawkins' defensive coordinator as well.
I think he's proven in the last couple seasons that he's a good coach but that is only half of the equation for whoever takes the UCLA job - player and staff development is the other, and Petersen is unproven in that regard.
Or if I wanted to be snarky I would point out how well the last two Boise coaches who made the jump to major programs have fared. What's Dirk Koetter doing these days?
Jay:
I apologize for that. I was doing a PC optimizing test and I had a hell of a time signing back-in. I was testing.
