Quick Recap
Today's scrimmage was highlighted by quarterback Mitch Mustain, who played his best scrimmage of the year and completed 10 of 16 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Most of his completions were to his favorite receiver Damian Williams, who caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Williams also made several tough catches in traffic.
``It's obvious Mitch sees one guy out there,'' USC coach Pete Carroll said. ``Mitch looked terrific.''
Mustain was worried that this was his final bowl practice until he enjoyed a big day.
``It was a nice way to go out, before I was kind of skeptical about it, but now I'm pleased,'' he said.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez was 9 for 12 for 54 yards while John David Booty was 2 for 7 for 36 yards.
Tailback Marc Tyler was also impressive with seven carries for 78 yards and one touchdown.

Fight On, Mitch!!!
He is definitely the real deal. I am glad he went out in such a great way. We'll see plenty more of him next year, that's for sure.
I've been sold on the kid for a while now and he does nothing each week but reinforce that opinion even more. He does appear to have it all. Good for him to showcase his talents for PC, and for PC to say such good things about him.
i still think sanchez will start-just a gut feeling
great to see Mitch and crawford doing well. we miss those guys they were both treated awful here. what kind of a coach would run off a 7-0 starter? Answer, a nutt, a run off nutt.
crawford, i meant williams, my bad
I was one of the invited guests at the scrimmage. Mustain is phenomenal. He put on a clinic for about the 500 or so in attendance. He is the best QB we have and it's not even close. The young man is a winner in every regard. He impressed all the Trojans in attendance and that included the jaded Marshall types!
Mitch Mustain has just been one highlight reel after another this season. All I keep hearing and reading about him is how amazing he is. And that is from every source who has seen him play, including those who attend practice rather religiously. No way Mustain won't start in 2008. Proud he's a Trojan.
Fight on!
Before we grant sainthood to MM, keep in mind his opposition was walkons and third stringers. A nice day, but he's got a ways to go yet
Yes, but he put the first team defense to shame every day for the past four months. Besides, the other QBs went up against the same competition and didn't do much.
Hail Mitch!
LA Times Gary Klein wrote earlier today 17 Dec 07:
"Mustain completed 10 of 16 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns, all against a third-team defense made of up mainly walk-ons and redshirts.". Mr. Klein also wrote that Steve Sarkisian said that Mustain is still missing some of the "intricacies" of USC's offense. To read the rest of the article:

The article clearly contradicts all(usual suspects/MS haters) threads except just4sc and Chiete76.
The usual characters always inflate MM performance regardless even if they have to lie.
Luis, Luis, Luis...
There you go again. You just cannot handle the fact that Mitch Mustain is better than Sanchez so will grasp to anything you can to hold onto the dying view that Sanchez will somehow start over Mustain. Wrong. Mustain's future as USC's next starting quarterback is well know. But you are not a Trojan and you only want Sanchez to start because you share a race with him. Never going to happen.
Mitch Mustain is the future of USC Trojan football.
Mr. POLO:
There you are twisting facts again which you refuse to accept. Steve Sarkisian stated that and reported by an unbiased person NOT you Mr. POLO>fact>check. Let me remind you that you are the one on a mission to discredit me with lies and secondly by igniting a race fire.
The link below contradicts your accusation as well as a legal reminder NOT to make accusations without any proof:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/allthingstrojan/2007/12/are-we-in-the-r.html#more
Finally come clean and quit your accusations or we go to a court room to settle differences.
El Captain was discredited a very long time ago and everyone has laughed at him ever since. Sark said that Mustain did not know all the intricacies yet but that it would not be a factor because he is at USC to compete, and has shown the coaching staff that he will compete. Everyone who has seen Mustain and Sanchez these past few months knows that Mustain is much better.
El Captain is a joke who keeps changing his name on this board, then makes a bigger fool of himself. Does anyone take him seriously? I can't think of even one person. But it is funny to see this train wreck continue to embarrass himself and be the source of amusement for everyone. So in that regard, if he continues, he just makes those of us who actually have an affiliation with USC feel so much better about ourselves over those who never went to USC but wish they did.
A big FIGHT ON to the actual Trojans on this blog!
I happen to be a lawyer and the funny thing is, there is not even a shred of evidence to suggest that this is even a legal issue!!!!!! In fact, the captain will be charged with contempt of court for wasting the court's time!!!
Too funny...
Hey ambulance chaser when you know everything open your cloaca then...
