With Bobby Petrino fleeing Atlanta for Arkansas, how long until someone writes that Caesar is a candidate for the Falcons? The first reader to find a story on the Internet can post it here.

Good luck finding the story. Won't happen. Rich McKay is the GM and probably isn't going anywhere.

Scott,
Came across this recruiting article about JDB from 2003: "Had multiple scholarship offers before he even played a down of high school football. An incredible talent who is as gifted physically and cerebrally as any signal caller we’ve covered. Booty has the great arm that is always the first thing to catch your eye and can make all the throws but he brings much more to the table. He’s athletic, knows how to buy time in the pocket while keeping his eyes looking downfield and is very, very smart.
As most know, Booty will bypass his senior year of high school and enroll this fall at USC. Although many feel it’s too much to ask for a high school player to step in and play, we feel Booty has a shot. The reason is because of his advanced knowledge of the game and how quickly we feel he’ll be able to pick up a college offense. The speed of the defenses will be a dramatic switch as well but again, Booty is so quick, we feel he’ll be able to adapt to it in time to make an immediate impact, possibly by the middle of the season.
Not sure that I agree with it!!!

Hey Scott,

I found it. It's on this site by a USC beat reporter. He uses the age old adage of attaching a question mark to his statement to make it seem less like a statement but make no mistake it's the first mention of Pete Carroll as a viable option to replace Petrino.

Visit www.insidesocal.com/usc/ and check it out it's the top blog post. Crazy - you're like a prophet.

Peter King on ESPN opined today that NFL owners would likely start shying away from college coaches because so many recent ones have been a bust. I hope that's true.

The AJC mentioned Pete - but he's just thrown in at the bottom because no one is going to buy Pete is even considering the Falcons.

The way comments surfaced today in various talk shows Mike Singletary had Mr. Blank vote while Rich McKay was for Petrino. BTW PC's name was NOT mentioned.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
