About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Not cool.
State of the program? What is it with this sense of entitlement from perpetual middle of the road teams? Teams like Ole Miss and UCLA and Iowa need to wise up and join the real world - you aren't powerhouses.
No one expects you to win 10 games per season - you expecting that of your own program is just silly. UCLA is supposed to win 7-8 games per season tops. This constant griping about not winning enough is silly.
THe only teams that should be complaining are teams that are supposed to be good - like ND and Michigan. Ole Miss? Since when is the state of Ole Miss' program supposed to be any good. Did I miss the part where Orgeron ran the Ole Miss porgram into the ground and destroyed their once proud heritage? Were they winning NCs before he got there??
Tyler, every year there are a few teams that enjoy a breakthrough season that give fans hope of similar future results. For example, Missouri and Kansas this year. Rutgers last year. FUCLA even went 10-2 under Durrell once. Hope springs eternal
The same is true for Ole Miss. The Rebels were 44-29 in the prior regime with David Cutliffe. He took them to five bowl games. He won four of them over Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and a Cotton Bowl win over Okl. St to cap a 10-3 season in 2003. The next year, Cutliffe was canned after he refused to fire his coaches after a 4-7 season (Eli was gone). Orgeron was hired.
Orgeron's record was 10-25, including an abysmal 3-21 record against SEC foes. He was 3-9 this year, and 0-8 in the SEC. His 3rd season was his worst.
People in the Ole Miss program have a right to feel like the school made a bad choice in dumping Cutliffe for Orgeron. But I seriously doubt Scott's ridiculous rumor that Orgeron was fired because a coach complained, as opposed to his dismal record.
uscmike....YOU should be running this blog! Which would leave Wolf to making rediculous comments to probably some really great topics. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy reading your postings. Thanks for them all

Goliath, thanks for the kind words.
golohead:
mike is qualified. You being qualified to make any recommendations is another story with ALL due respect to mike. Mike is objective and fair. You, SW and the rest of the usual suspects objectivity is just from objectivity itself...
Thank you
