About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Well we have a PRO east coast in Los Angeles, wow?
I hope I'm wrong but either AR RB McFadden or Tebow will win it. Anyway I'll be rooting for Brennan!
SW, when are you due for your next CATscan? I'm sorry, but you may need as much help as Brittney does. I'm surprised that you didn't vote for Owen Schmitt of West Virginia. Fight On!
kp...i agree
I don't understand how Tebow is everyones Front-Runner!! If the Criteria for Heisman is "Most Outstanding Player", then it is resonable to assume that the Winner would Flourish/be outstanding on any team in any system? Sure the kid threw for 20 TD's and Ran for 20.. But on Gator team with virtually no TailBack, I'd even score on an array of 5-10 yard husltes! Put Dennis Dixon on the Florida Team, they maybe lose One game, put Juice Williams there, same result.. You can put Brennan, McFadden, even CrabTree on most any squad in D1 football, and they'd replicate their stats.. Tebow? No so sure about that.
I have to question the Athletic Club's judgment for giving you a vote. Aren't you the same idiot that voted three SEC teams 1-3 in your last ballot? Scott, I think you try too hard to be controversial. You are a TJ Simers wanna be and don't have enough talent to hold his jock.
Nice controversial votes, Wolfie. Consistent with your tabloid press mentality. But, I do have to say I applaud the Crabtree and Brennan votes. Their stats were absolutely amazing this year. If you guys haven't watched Tx Tech and Crabtree, you would enjoy it immensely. I HATE to see Tebow win, and was pulling for Dixon or Woodson or Chase, but I just don't see McFadden or anyone else beating him at this point. More SEC, east coast bias. Hope Colt at least finishes #3 or #4.
Scott,
alotta people give you hate for your ballots, from this to the AP poll, but i agree with you.
Tebow is an incredible QB, and to have something like 50 TDs combined running and passing is absurd. Brennan could have won last year, but he's thrown alot more picks this year.
Really like the Crabtree pick for second. 125 catches and 21 TD!?!? ridiculous. and only a redshirt freshman. And who cares if he's a "system" guy. tell the last guy to have a season like that.
Well done on the ballot Scott
Some Tebow haters, eh? Frankly, as Matt said, Tebow is deserving of the Heisman. He has the unprecedented feat of scoring 20+ TDs running AND passing in 12 games. He is also a tough SOB, especially among other QBs. He leads that team, especially because there is no true RB. If he wins, its because of the unprecedented stats.
The marks against him are a 9-3 record, and the assertion that he is a "system" QB. However, some system QBs have been awarded the trophy: Eric Crouch, Danny Wuerffel, Ty Detmer, Andre Ware, and perhaps the Fla St. QBs (Wienke, Ward). Some of those QBs were champs, thanks to the "system." Florida's Leak was last year.
Who else is more deserving? If you look at the top 2 teams, they are known for defense and there are no Woodson's among the bunch (Dorsey and Laurinitis are close). Chris Wells has not been pushed as a candidate.
Brennan has the record, but against the 3rd easiest schedule out of 119 teams. Plus, not many on the east coast stay up to 4 am to watch the whole game. If Brennan had last year's stats for this year, he might win it.
Crabtree is on a 8-4 team, and plays in Lubbock. McFadden is on a 8-4 team, and had better stats and record last year. Dixon got hurt with too much season left. Daniels, Reesing, Woodson, and White all ended the season with losses. So who else should win it?
Tebow wins by statistical default.
McFadden not in the top 3 and behind Crabtree? Are you high, Scott Wolf. Hey everybody, Scott Wolf is high!

Now we know why Scott has Florida at number 3 in his AP ballot... Although I usually disagree with Wolf, I have to agree with his number one vote. I think we need to start putting all the political BS aside and vote for the best player regardless of his class. Yes Tebow is a Soph, but who cares?! Without him, Florida is nothing this year. Makes me think of all the political BS behind the Rose Bowl Committee picking Illinois (keeping the RB money in the family) instead of picking a better matchup. Why couldn't they have given the Pac 10 a shot at silencing some critics. Instead they've given Illinois a shot to prove THEY are legit.
I would have voted McFadden second, and Colt third. I do like the Crabtree wild card, esp because it's always hard for a WR to win it without being a stellar punt returner or something.
