About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Goaltending? Seriously? in Inside the Lakers

is pete worried about his recruting class...it seems a little thin right now?
It's kissi-kissy time for the usual suspects...
What the f--- is the NCAA thinking with this new "bowl subdivision" designation? Seriously, what are your thoughts on that name?
From what you can tell in your interactions with Mitch Mustain, does he have the maturity and the skills to deal with the media in a high profile position? Would you consider him to be an asset to USC in this regard?
Scott:
When should we expect to hear about current players who are transferring to other schools? After the Rose Bowl? After spring training? The summer? When does it appear most likely to happen?
When Mitch Mustain returns in the new year, will there be any more NCAA restrictions on him for being a transfer or can he pretty much start playing, traveling, and practicing whenever he wants again?
Scott, can you tell us WHY the Trojans would not take BEAL at this point?
If not, then I have an alternate question that was kind of asked above--
From your perspective on the inside of the program, knowing what remaining recruits the coaches want, and with at least some fair idea of who they will get, what do you think the odds are that we will get a REAL top 5 recruiting class?
THANX SCOTT.
Was it REALLY that much of a surprise that Mitch Mustain had such a strong showing in the final scrimmage? After all, wasn't he getting all kinds of kudos and accolades throughout the season from those in the know?
Scott,
Please handicap the top five tailback depth chart for next fall.
Scott,
Looks like a slow question day ... do the coaches have any interest in recruiting Nate Montana? He looked decent in some SC summer camp video being shown on one of the recruiting websites.
Is there any story to Dewayne Walker leaving SC after one year or was he simply at SC until his next NFL opportunity came along? Wondering if there is any bad blood between Pete and him.
Has the coaching staff seen the new Hannah Montana video?
How would you assess PC's interest in the NFL? The NFL's interest in PC? Hypothetically, would a HC/GM job in SF be attractive to him?
SW, as we head in to the last week before Rose Bowl, what does PC have planned for the team this week, in terms of practice and focus? Happy Holidays to you, and to all of the members of the Trojan nation. Fight On!
Pardee's joke:
MM strong-?-?:
Against a "third-team" defense of mostly walk-ons and redshirts>UNCHECK!
Scott, how's O'Dowd doing? He didn't appear to get much playing time when he came back from injury for the last 1/3 of the year. Is that because the more mature O-line had stabilized with health and/or O'Dowd never made it back to 100% health? Thx!
Considering the fact that you think Florida is outrecruiting USC this year, if Mustain and Williams were tranferring this year would they still choose USC?
Assuming the dumb @$$ Ruins do the right thing, do you think DeWayne Walker will provide serious competition for Southern Cal HS recruits?
Hey Scott:
You indulged us with you prediction in an 8-team playoff, yet teased us by not picking the winner of USC-Georgia. Sooooo, who would be the Nat'l Champ, and why?
Thanks again for the forum.
FIGHT ON!
If USC moves to the Rose Bowl would the Coliseum Commission have enough income to avoid defaulting on its rent payment(s) to the State of California? If the Commission defaults on the lease wouldn’t the State be able to lease the Coliseum directly to USC? Has USC talked to Philip Anshutz or Tim Leiweke of AEG about building a Downtown L.A. Stadium near the Staples Center?
You wrote above that the compliance office took an ultra-strict stance preventing both Mitch Mustain and Damian Williams from practicing due to the fact that they're transfers, so does that mean the NCAA would actually allow them to participate in bowl practices but the compliance office would not?
