Did they ever release a DVD for 2006 season? There were DVDs for 2002 thru 2005 seasons, but I haven't seen one for 2006.

Other than Damian Williams, has Mitch Mustain shown a strong chemistry with any other receivers? Has it appeared easy for him to have on-field rapport with receivers? What do the receivers think of Mustain?

First, how do you expect carries to be split between SC's back's during the Rose Bowl?

Second, do you expect to see any 4+ receiver sets against Illinois?

I haven't been able to make it out to a practice this month. Last year, during the bowl game, it was fun to see Jarrett on fire, but my happiest moment was watching Steve Smith get his final touchdown as a Trojan. I really miss those guys. Any chance someone from the receiving corp is going to finally step up and bring the firepower back to our passing game?

HI SCOTT:

Back around Sept.,in response to a readers' question--not mine--you predicted that the Trojans would end up with a top 5 recruiting class. My question is simple: Do you still feel that way?
Thanx in advance for taking the question.

PS--I really enjoy those pictures of Cravath and Leahy, and of Bukich and Al "Hoagy" Carmichael--they bring back a lot of happy memories.
[Before the 1949 season-a year in which the Irish won the AP National Championship, as they had in '46 and'47--and would have in '48 except for a 14-14 tie with SC in the final game of the season--a reporter asked Leahy how his team looked. Frank replied, " I'll be surprised if we make a first down all year."]
He stands with Rockne as 2 of the greatest coaches Notre Dame-and football-have ever seen.

Did you see Mitch Mustain use the shotgun at all this season and was he proficient at it? Then again, there was a lot of fuss made all year that the shotgun was going to be used with Booty and we all know how that turned out, so does it look like USC won't use it in the future with Mustain, either? Would the shotgun even be needed with Mustain?

Scott, awhile back you said that Neuheisel would be the UCLA hire that other Pac 10 coaches would fear the most (or something to that effect) ... what makes you say that? In examining his record at CU and UW, it appears that he had the most season wins in years one or two and then a decline in years three and four afterwhich he was gone. Two years after he was gone at UW, Keith Gilbertson was 1 and 10 and he was gone. This makes me think that Neuheisel makes an immediate impact with the previous coach's players/recruits and then gets out before the situation gets bad.

chuckytrojan said:

I know Neuheisel fired at UW, but cupboard still bare.

SW, last week you had a poll; What will be the lasting memory of this season? What is your lasting memory of the 2007 season? Truth be told, what is your take on Neu-weasel coach coming to Western Beverly Hills? Fight On!

Which Trojan from this draft class has the most productive NFL career? Freddie, Sammy, Sed, JDB? And, do you have a sleeper pick for surprisingly productive NFL career? Chauncey, Thom Williams, JDB? Thanks Scott.

Scott, why do YOU think the Trojans have had so many penalties called against them? Aggressive play style, inexperience, coaching deficiencies, officials' bias? Or something else?

With eligibility for our hero Mitch Mustain only three days away and the last non-BCS championship game appearance for the Trojans for the next three years just a couple of days away, this raises some serious questions:

1) Were less than stellar ringers put in at the quarterback position this season only to heighten the drama of our hero Mitch Mustain's ascent to the Trojan throne in 2008 and to emphasize his greatness?

2) Was it happenstance that our hero Mitch Mustain got more positive media than all the other QBs on the roster combined or are reporters just forward thinkers who want to jump on the inevitability of the next starter by trying to get closer to our hero, all the while infringing on possible copyright violations for Mitch and Me?

3) At what point in 2008 will we expect to hear the Coliseum Commission announce the Mitch Mustadium?

4) With both Pedalgate and the Bicycle-Contra affair still unresolved at the end of 2007, will 2008 bring about more danger at every turn for our hero Mitch Mustain? Are you confident that our hero Mitch Mustain will be able stab danger in the chest and continue to prove that he is, in fact, The Chosen One?

5) What will be the main form of transportation, in light of the above unresolved issues, that our hero Mitch Mustain will use to get around campus? Does he still simply appear and disappear without anyone ever actually seeing him come and go?

6) Are we anticipating many babies throughout America being named Mitch in 2008 in honor of our hero Mitch Mustain, who symbolizes all that is good and honorable about America and the American Way?

Fight On and Happy New Year!

Part of the reason USC's season feels like a complete disappointment is due to the super high expectations of the pre-season rankings - which are based on very subjective criteria (last bowl game played with players no longer on the team, spring practice, number of returning players, etc)... Would you support a move by the BSC to have the polls used in the BCS formula not taken until the after the second or third week of the season - if this were the case for this season, I bet SC would not have been #1 in the middle of September or October Polls, would have had less attention, and instead of being seen as falling from grace, could have been seen as rising to the top with a strong finish...

What is the opinion around the program regarding the Tings? Are they welcome to attend practices and games? By the way, did they ever end up going to medical school? I know there was controversy that they would end up being denied admission due to their situation.

Is there any talk about bringing back the male yell leaders? I miss having them at the games and I don't understand the uproar in the first place. If we are going to have males in the tall flags then we can definitely have those dudes back!

Happy new year Scott and thanks for the this forum.

PS Less answers about Mitch in 2008 please. He ain't going to beat out Sanchez anyways...

Scott, I'm in the process of writing a screenplay that I've tentatively titled "No Wood" which is set in the mythical Southern California town of Deadwood. I'm developing my characters right now which I've listed below. I was hoping you could show this to somebody at the SC film school and give me some feedback. Thanks.

Slick Rick Neuheisel - New Deadwood coach with a dark secret.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson - San Francisco blueblood and future Deadwood whipping-boy.
Wild Ben Howland - Denizen of Deadwood known for snail-like movement.
Doc Dan Guerrero - Ruthless Deadwood mayor and saloon-keeper.
Wizard John Wooden - Respected, aging patriarch of Deadwood.
William Walton - Half-witted son of the Wizard who speaks in cliches.
Terry Donahue - Former Deadwood coach banished by Doc to Balboa Island. Father of Slick Rick.
Kalamity Karl Dorrell - Former Deadwood coach bludgeoned to death by Doc in the opening scene.
Pete Carroll- Happy-go-lucky rival coach whose fortunes have ravaged Deadwood.
Troy Aikman - Local Deadwood hustler and one-time protege of Slick Rick.
Loose Cannon Steve Hartman - Local Deadwood historian and undertaker generally regarded as a pollyanna.
Rob Meathead Reiner - Self-styled Deadwood "entertainment director" with a penchant for socialism and bratwurst.

Now that we are on the eve of JD Booty's final game as a Trojan, what is your explanation as to why he never lived up to the hype that he came to USC with and what followed him for his first three years on campus? Do you think that after he had back surgery, he simply was not as good as he was prior to the operation? Did he become more hesitant after the operation and did it cause restrictions in his on field actions? Would he have been better if he never had back problems that didn't require surgery?

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
