Weekend Forum Answers, Part I

Here's the first batch of answers, brought to you on Christmas Eve by Saint Peter Caesar Carroll.

Pete Carroll never admits he's worried about his recruiting class, especially this time of the year. For example, I'm sure he is still recruiting cornerback Patrick Johnson and believes he has a good chance of landing him.

I really have no idea why the NCAA calls its upper echelon the Bowl Subdivision. It's a typical NCAA move. They could at least give it a catchy name, like Premiership. My favorite NCAA story is that at one time they formed a ``committee on committees.''

Mitch Mustain dealt with intense media scrutiny at Arkansas and while he went through some tough times, he's been friendly with the media in L.A. I think he probably thinks the media here is easier to deal with than in Arkansas, just like the fans.

I haven't heard anything about players leaving, unlike last year, when Walker Lee Ashley left over Christmas break. Plus there doesn't seem to be a shortage of scholarships, like last year, so no one will get run out of the program. If anyone leaves, it will probably be in May or June.

There should be no further restrictions on Mitch Mustain or Damian Williams regarding practices or games after the Rose Bowl.

Before he committed to Florida, I'd heard critiques about Brendan Beal regarding him not having the ideal body and also having ``small hands.''

I don't consider it a surprise that Mitch Mustain did well in the scrimmage, but there were some passes that caught the eye of the crowd and were impossible not to dwell on, especially with it kind of slow scrimmage.

Here's my own unscientific top TB depth chart for next season.

1. Stafon Johnson
2. C.J. Gable
3. Broderick Green
4. Allen Bradford
5. Marc Tyler

Yeah you are right Scott, I really doubt that Joe McKnight will even be on the depth chart.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
