USC coach Pete Carroll highlighted the play of several first or second-year players today.
``(Wide receiver) Ronald Johnson got some good reps with the first group. (Linebacker) Malcolm Smith jumps out,’’ he said. `` (Center) Alex Parsons looks like a different guy.’’
