About Hawaii

Norm Chow is now a candidate at Hawaii with June Jones leaving for SMU. I don't know what will happen, but I do know when Chow coached at USC he did not view Hawaii as an attractive fit for himself. And that was before Hawaii's success this season puts more pressure on the next coach. In the coaching world, you never want to be the guy who follows THE GUY. You want to be the second guy.

It IS OFFICIAL:
June Jones has signed a five year contract with SMU. We ALL have said something during our lives that later on we learn to regret. SW, Chow and myself we are NOT perfect.
Thank you

Coaching under Jones and conforming to his style would be a bad idea but if Norm was HC he could implement his own.

Cheering for Norm's chess-game style might be dificult for a Hawai'i fan to digest after being accustomed to Jones' game of lawn darts, but maybe a BCS Bowl Game win would help.

Chow deserves a head coaching position. His laid back personality is a reflection of his Hawaiian upbringing and he still has familly there. I hope for Chow they can come to terms and he can move home.
