Caesar's Circle

Ed Donatell is expected to become the defensive coordinator at Washington, which is significant for USC because Donatell is one of Pete Carroll's closest friends in coaching and part of the inner circle that also includes Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.
Donatell was the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons and worked for the New York Jets last season. We hear he's become a big fan of the 3-4 defense recently, even though he and Caesar are primarily 4-3 guys.
