Dynamic Duo
The 100-yard rushing performances by Joe McKnight and Stafon Johnson were USC’s 17th and 18th in a bowl game, dating back to Roy Baker’s 123-yard effort in the 1923 Rose Bowl game against Penn St. 85 years ago. The only other time the Trojans had two 100-yard rushing performances in a bowl game was in the 1977 Bluebonnet against Texas A&M (Charles White and Dwight Ford). McKnight and Johnson’s combined rushing total, 229, is less, than the SC bowl rushing record, 247, set by Charles White in the 1980 Rose Bowl against Ohio State.

Wow! I had no idea Stafon got a 100 yards. I knew he ripped off that one long one, but wow. I was worried he might be upset about his lack of touches.
The thing about Joe and Stafon each breaking for over 100, is the fact that they had to share the rock with Chauncey (who ran for 75 himself). That makes all of their performances very strong. Fight On!
